The legendary Mayweather-Baldomir fight. That fight was terrible, I remember all of those people walking out during the last round, lol. Merchant was right to give him a bit of stick imo. What do you think?

In every interview or piece of footage Ive seen of Hopkins outside the ring, he comes across as a right ****.

It's nice to see someone who doesn't kiss his arse.

Hakkar was a contender, 31-3. Nobody complained when Pavlik fought MIguel Espino and Rubio, but when Bernard does then its a volcano explosion

At least Hopkins kept busy and then went on to face Joppy in the same year

Hopkins was offered: 3M to fight Calzaghe, 3M to fight Toney. More than 3M to fight Jones, hardly slave wages for a guy who was making 300k for his title defenses

Champions have the right to petition the sanctioning bodies, if they think they mandatorys are Z class fighters. If successful then the sanctioning body would force the no 1 ranked and the no 2 ranked contenders to face off, with the champion fighting the winner. That way the champion would never have to sell bum fights to the networks or the fans. Jones would do it against Tarver in 2000, for all the wrong reasons

You think so? I scored it 8-4 to Merchant, although there were rounds which could of been scored either way

It's saD when the post fight interview is more memorable than the fight itself

He put Merchant in his place and told him the truth years ago there were no Jr classes. He also told the truth about his mandatory. All Merchant did was make him self look like an ******* who can't give proper respect to an ATG like Hopkins.:deal

HBO need to revise their contracts with fighters, so they can turn down fights which they know are going to be garbage like Hopkins-Hakkar

I'm not entirely knocking Hopkins, but Hakkar was nearly two years after Trinidad. It was also one of the worst fights in the history of boxing. He deserved some criticism.

Pavlik fought his share of bums, but once he won his title he at least had the courtesy of mixing in some big fights. Hopkins over the course of three years only fought four times and they were against people that nobody wanted to see.

After the Oscar fight there's really nothing bad I can say about Hopkins except for agreeing to fight Jones when he was shot.

If you think your mando is garbage then you can petition the sanctioning bodies to make them make your no 1 ranked mando and no 2 ranked mando face off. That way you dont have to fight garbage opponents like Hakkar

    lol love Hopkins.

He kept it cool too and both were smiling, thats the difference between him and Floyd. Larry called Floyd out, Floyd went on a rant, cried and decided to retire.
