    Fantastic thread, that shows a real side to Hopkins calling out smaller fighters and feasting off the M Hakkars of the MW division, whilst avoiding guys like Sturm.

    what do you know about pavlik and hopkins? apart from what the media feeds you?

    Dont be so quick to judge characters based on interviews

    i didnt know that, thank you for the knowledge.
    On the other hand, if i was Hopkins i would have done the same, kept busy fighting bums getting my record up, and use them as tune ups for big fights.

    I know im contradicting myself here when i criticised pavlik, but it was for the sake of argument

    As i have stated before, the defence was used to stay busy and keep his record up in order to build legacy.

    If you were a fighter you would probably do the same. History books say the same aswell. Were all of Sugar rays opponents A/B level fighters??

    Im no fan of Merchant, but Merchant asked genuine questions, that got Hopkins rattled. Hopkins didnt own Merchant, Merchant had Hopkins rattled visably. The truth must hurt
    Yeah but there is a junior MW version now, and Hopkins was a guy that debuted at LHW looking to fight former WW and SFWs :patsch

    Too many guys like Hakkar and smaller fighters on the record, not to mention Hopkins calling out JMWs. Merchant was right to pick Hopkins up for calling out smaller fighters :dead

    The fight wouldnt have made any sense. DLH beat Sturm (controversially yes i know) And Bernard knocked DLH out...

    Your welcome. Jones would use the option for all the wrong reasons. ie. he would use it because his mando was good, not crap

    If he wants to keep busy thats fine, the problem is that when HBO gave him a contract they were expecting better fights that Hopkins-Hakkar

    Hakkar, vanderpool, Brown, council

    4 bums

    The rest were genuine contenders....
    He called out smaller men because they were bigger names, rather than fighting guys like Hakkar and ****. SMW dont usually move down to MW, and Nard wasnt willing to move up during that time
    I dont see the problem...
