Wouldn't it be great to have all the fighters who got dissed by Merchant after winning a beautifully, technical fight to get one round with him? (This question should be ignored by the "boxing fans" who have only watched Tyson/Pacman fights)
Truth hurts doesn't it? Truth is, Merchant has no skills and can only see outta one eye, the blind drunken *******. There are bros on the street selling newspapers who could easily out perform this SHOED-IN liver spotted faced drunk. It's no secret how these sorry *******s get their jobs. I would be ashamed to admit the obvious too if I were in your tiny shoes. :yep:good:rofl
i dont see what everyones problem is. merchant cut through all the bull**** said what needed to be said :deal
What truth?the truth as you see it or the truth as it is? He doesnt like defensive fighters and he doesnt like it when fighters stink up the place specially when they're fighting guys that are nowhere near their level and he calls them out on it, since when is that being racist?
People seem to be throwing their babies out of the pram over Merchant so called "hating" and "disrespecting". The man is asking real questions to the athletes, difficult questions, but he does it calmly and gives the fighter every opportunity in the world to respond, as opposed to talking over them. They both had smiles on their faces at the end... I'm going to miss Larry like crazy when he's gone. There won't be another one like him any time soon, I assure you.
"Aren't you embarrassed by this?" "Isn't it embarrassing for the Middleweight champion to be calling out Junior Middleweights?" "Looked to me like you got paid for not doing much" We have an outrage over these quotes, and some of the posters are Floyd fans. Holy ****ing ****.
Dont you rank Bernard Hopkins over Mayweather for fighting these same junior middleweights or did I miss something? Again actually watch the Tarver vs Hopkins fight. Hopkins is facing the light heavyweight champion of the world and watch how much **** Merchant is about to talk before the fight even gets going. He has it out for technically skilled boxers.
Larry Merchant is entitled to ask the fighters questions. It's the choice of the athlete whether or not they answer him, and Hopkins did a pretty good job at replying. The line at the end about about getting paid for not doing much is pretty on point and Hopkins was also on-point with his retort. Merchant and Hopkins both seem to be smiling at the end, with Merchant even laughing. What would you have preferred to have happened? Merchant congratulate the champion on a job well done and to ask Bernard to explain to the viewers about his pre-fight plan which allowed him to befuddle the destroy that is Hakkar? If this interview had been between Merchant and Pacquiao, you'd have nothing to say about it.
Out of your mind. If you look at the whole story you will see Hopkins should be much more respected than he is. Not only for the age he is/was still competitive but for taking care of business in some huge fights. He was sticking up for boxing and challenged HBO and all the promoters to get what he deserved. People forget he had the middleweight record of all time and got robbed having his belt taken in an obvious draw at worst with Taylor. Promoters and insiders wanted him to go away because he will expose you. Bhop is a freaking legend :good
Look how he gave it to lennox [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjOEuM6gbbk&feature=youtube_gdata_player[/ame]
