Who said Merchant bullied anyone? You're jumping to conclusions, which is one of your trademarks.

Barrera fought gimmes, and Merchant called him out on that **** too. Did I go crying like a dumb ****? No. I wanted to know, like Larry, when Marco was going to step it up.

 

Your absolutely correct. There was no desire for Jones to fight the main man of the division, who had claim to all the titles because he could fight lesser fighters for the same money.
Its a shame really

 

I didn't like Merchant's attitude with BHop, but he showed no disrespectful attitude towards RJJ here, just tough but fair questions.

Hopkins attitude was awful. Merchant asked genuine questions and Hopkins revealed that he wants to fight the Hakkars and naturally smaller fighters :dead

 

Hopkins' attitude was a reaction not to Merchant's questions, but Merchant's attitude.

As I said in that thread, the actual questions were fine, what wasn't fine was Merchant's disrespectful tone towards BHop.

And I do like Merchant.

 

when a person is putting his brain on the line for your entertainment and money, you don't treat him like Merchant does. Especially guys who are smart enough to not mix it up every time and use their technical skills to not garner dementia. He is a ***** who has never fought anyone regardless of weight.

 

I dont like Merchant, but didnt see a problem with asking straight forward questions especially when the MW champ was calling out smaller fighters :dead

 

Why did he flip out like that for asking him to fight a real opponent Jones said I want fights that mean something they meant something

Hopkins Jones 2 made the most sense in 03 or 04 when Hop beat Oscar and Jones beat Tarver the 1st time

 

You have a problem with Merchant for doing his job but you dont have a problem with top fighters beating up guys that shouldnt be in the same ring with them which is what Merchant is questioning here.

 

One of the lesser fighters he fought was Julio Cesar Gonzalez who shocker beat the Eurobum you're referring too.

 

No I do have a problem with that, but let's be honest is it Jones' or Hopkin's decision on who they fight or is it the ABC's and the promoters?

 

Are we really that pissed that we would side with Merchant over Hop or Jones cause they didn't fight Sven Ottke? Either one of those two could take Ottke and Merchant in a handicap match within 6 rounds

 

Larry brought up a graphic of potential opponents and asked Jones if there was a possibility he was going to fight one of them.

Of course its Jones and Hopkins who decide who they fight those two are well known for doing whatever they want specially Jones who even though he was promoted by Murad Muhamad for some time it was he who called the shots the only time he didnt do whatever he wanted to do was early in his career when he was with his dad after that he was basically promoting himself with a little help from the Levins and Muhamad and he fought whoever he wanted to fight.
