Larry Olubamiwo, where do people think he fits in on the british scene?

Larry has started his pro career farily well, last time out KO'D belshaw, and now he is fighting Colin Kenna, a guy who hasn't won in his last 6 outings. With the potential fights out there for him, chisora, rogan, mcdermott etc, where does he fit into all of this right now, and because of his age (31, and only 7 pro fights) should he be looking to put his foot on the gas a little bit, and step it up?

    just looking for opinions really

Nothing more than a domestic gatekeeper IMO.

Price, Dallas and Towers are at similar stages and I would bet on them to do a number on Larry.

the point i am making with this thread though is that larry is doing something similar to skelton in that he is coming into the pro game late, so needs to step on it if he is going ot make anything of himself at least on a british level.
He just hasn't over convinced me as yet, as sometimes "prospects" can.

    yeah price has some power

but larry olubamiwiwo is very limited, he's reached his level. if he one day challenges for brit/commonwealth title then thats the furthest he'll go. big dude but thats about all he got

skelton had a historyin K1 and relatively succesful career as a standup fighter though, larry's history seems to be all heavy lifting and some sprinting, far too much unfunctional muscle on him

to be honest as i was writing the post, i considered that fact, and felt that maybe it gave skelton a more natural prgression into boxing rather than strength and bulk might for larry tbh

Larry won't make brit level imo, he will get picked off soon as he steps up.

I was at the Sunderland card where he lost to Peret and although I can't remember it completely now, this is what I said at the time:

Larry Olubamiwo was very poor, and lost pretty decisively against Peret. I had him losing by 3 points (peret won 4 rounds, olubamiwo 1 round, 1 even) and he was outboxed for most of the fight, which shows I was wrong to overrate him.

I will add that he gassed after about 3-4 rounds.

He just seems to be one of these fellas to me that feels his size and power will see him through fights, with nothing else to back it up.
