Never turned pro til the age of 30 and i havent heard of him haveing much of a amature background how did he get signed by maloney?
Oh a little bit harsh there I fear. Is that the new heavyweight guy? if so looks very one dimensional, like a bodybuilder turned boxer, no rhythm, no speed, no clue, big lump of a lad though
He's big and black, been in jail, looks intimdating like a prime George Foreman....! These factors all played a part..!
i think he won the London Novices or something he definitly won a London title as an amteur. He was a boxer at Repton and supposed to have been alright started boxing late. thats all i know
Tough crowd Yeah he sucks skill wise but he's obviously got raw strength and power. For such a late starter if he gets in contention for a British title that would be a great achievement. The sport is all about levels, thats his level and coming from where he is without much experience he'd have done well.
Larry is Ok. With his power he should at least be challenging for the British Masters title, I mean the division is hardly stacked with talent right now either. He has got poor stamina from what I have seen (against Peret he was exhausted in the 5th round) and a lack of boxing skills (although this could be worked on), and anyone who can box a bit can easily win a lop-sided division against him as long as they don't get tagged. I see him being used by Maloney as a credible opponent for one of his other heavys, maybe even Price in a couple fights time, although Dallas would be my pick.
