Last night I watched Oleg Maskaev vs Kirk Johnson. Forgot how powerful those hooks of Johnson’s could be.

Are you kidding? "The War" had nothing on it, a third of the length and not comparable in action and the Manila while similar in excitement wasn't between two prime war machines like De Leon and Nelson.

    Napoles/Menetrey.
An absolute master class from Jose, it was there for all to see, the gliding in and out, not letting the shots go until he knew they would land, hooks, uppercuts, jabs, his complete arsenal on show for the boxing world to saviour, as you all know Roger was a very sturdy and strong WW he looked the part, and he tried, oh how he tried but Napoles was sublime, some WW hit harder ( Hearns/Cuevas) some might have been better boxers ( Leonard/SRR/Ross) some were tougher ( Walker/Basilio/Kid Lewis) but on this night , he might just have beaten them all.
    stay safe amigos.

Today I watched Roy Jones against Julio Cesar Gonzalez. Not the most exciting fight but Jones did knock him down 3 times. I've never see De Leon versus Nelson. Tried to find it on You Tube along with Chavez fights against Haugen & Camacho
None of them are on You Tube

Tonight I watched Pipino Cuevas-Angel Espada I (when he won the welterweight title at age 18) and Cuevas-Scott Clark (eighth defense).

Both were second-round knockouts. That left hook was a wrecking ball. Love watching Pipino.

Cooney-Norton and Shavers-Norton. It’s like watching a family member being attacked.

Man is DeLeon vs Nelson a mans fight. You'll need to do a little digging for it maybe on daily motion? I've seen it before and it's just simply the best cruiser bout ever.

I felt worse watching Cooney vs Lyle honestly, Ronnie was as good as Norton and was always just on the cusp of winning... Then he get's fed to Gerry...

I'm starting to think we are the only two on the classic forum that even watch the sport currently. Ramirez vs Gonzalez should be good this weekend!

But there's a few who I talk to outside of the forum who watch current boxing, @BitPlayerVesti for one.

I am absolutely looking forward to both Ramirez vs Pedraza later tonight and Martinez vs Chocolatito tomorrow. Both should be really fun and will both answer some questions.
