Showtime announce is not interested in Bute-Froch.In exchange, they prefere Bute-Hopkins if Bute - Ward can`t be made. What`s going to happen?

I don't understand this move. Many would tune in, in Canada, the US, and the UK, not to mention the live gate attendance.

Eddie Hearns : "We reached to an agreement with Interbox but we have no option now because the money come from Showtime".

The chanel motivated Froch was "too beat" in the final to be an attraction now.

My question:Why this is announced now?

My guess: typical American back-up manoever. When was stipulated a clause that would spear the Romanian to travel in England if he beats The English in 6 rounds or at more than six points difference the television said exit.

I see in US it`s not desired that Bute to gain credit on their money , at least not at the same cost as the credit for Ward.

Bute-Hopkins would be interesting but no credit for SMW division.

They gave Bute a 3 fight contract because they wanted him to face the super six winner. They paid good money to get him.

Possible a small revenge from "the reseau" cause Interbox and Bute didn`t renewed their contracts yet attending higher bids.

I would sure like to see a statement of SHO's officials. I mean... what are they thinking?

Showtime paid for 3 of Bute's fights - he's already had one of them. If they take on the 2-fight deal that Bute/Froch is trying to put together - that would cover the 3 fight deal with Showtime - which means - HBO or anybody else can come in and steal whatever fight Bute puts together after that.

By telling him that Hopkins is thier perferred choice - they line Bute up for a bigger fight and still have him for one more fight under the deal they have. If he was to beat Hopkins - his stock would rise even more - and I don't see why Ward wouldn't fight him after that.

This is also another case of the Networks trying to play promoters. They have interesting fights presented to them - but want what they want (aka Bob Arum).

Wrong! Bute had 2 of the 3 fights agreement. Magee and Glen. Mendy was the only one that was not part of the deal.

I think Showtime has rights to Bute's next opponent so if they say no to Froch than Bute has to look somewhere else. I understand Showtime wants to match up Bute with Ward, they've invested a lot to make that fight come off and maybe we get a Bute-Dirrell fight which is pretty good as well and Ward vs the winner of that is a nice fight. But they are passing up on a really good fight with Bute-Froch and this could back fire on them if it doesn't play out the way they want.

Nope. 1 fight left, that's it. Better be Ward for Showtime's financial sake.

Hopkins is with HBO and is on the hook to fight Dawson as per WBC's direction; why the hell is he even being considered?
