After browsing some threads in the last half hour regarding crap undercards on ppv it got me thinking.

When was the last reasonably major ppv fight with a top undercard bill eg 2-3 decent names in meaningful fights?

Apologies if this has been covered as i rarely bless the board these days.

The Mayweather/Marquez fight had a pretty rockin undercard if i remember correctly

EDIT: Ya it was deadly, made up for the poor enough main fight

    Chris John vs. Rocky Juarez
    Michael Katsidis vs. Vincent Escobedo

Lock/Cruz was an entertaining scrap as well

Problem is Ed, that should a standard quality undercard for a top fight, things have really slipped over the last 10 years or so as far as undercards are concerned.

Showtime did some market research and most people base their decision on whether to but a PPV on the main event so theres not that much incentive to pack an undercard with decent (and expensive fights).

Ya I guess it's "beggars can't be choosers" for boxing fans these days.

But for once I was genuinely entertained while waiting for the main event to come on, that was pretty nice.

Yeah undercards are pretty **** these days, the only time i really think about them is on ESPN FNF's and thats mostly to do with wether i can be ****ed staying up for a decent main event.

A decent undercard is a bonus these days. Seems pretty **** but when I see Lock or Boone on a main event that makes it a decent undercard to me, they are that bad.

Warren always has a good undercard at the start of events, most times they get wrecked with injuries.

    Imagine paying for this

Wouldn't mind seeing what all the fuss it about with that Benavidez kid, plus Barrera if he's got anything left at all. However, if Chavez Jr is top of the bill they'd need prime Mike Tyson as chief support to get me to part with a single penny.

The Benavidez hype never really took off for me, seems anything that Roach touches is the next big thing. Who was the last one Porter or something there's another one people went on about recently seen him on ESPN and he was all over the place not heard much about him since like it always is around here.

Yeah thats a shocker of an undercard but to be fair, the main event isnt worthy of paying to see in my opinion, both Duddy and Chavez jr are so hyped its shocking!!

If i was to go watch that card live it would be to see the Barrera fight to be honest, shot to **** or not, he is a HOF Legend and no matter how far gone he is it would be great to say you have seen him fight live, in my opinion.

Was the same when Tyson came to the UK, i knew it was a shadow of himself and a big dent on the wallet but i can tell my grandkids i watched Tyson in the flesh twice.

Not many times you get to see legends in the flesh.

K2 cards are always **** as well thank christ Lee got away from them, for me the Germans put too many heavyweights on an undercard but usually have a good co main event.

I felt the undercard of the Khan vs Kotelnik fight looked good beforehand:

    Hall vs Small
    Enzo vs Lebedev
    Brook vs Lomax
    Mitchell, Smith, 'Olympians' as well.

Shame Sky didn't bother to show most of the fights :fire
