First of all no offense to anybody from Europe. Lennox Lewis is one of the best fighters of all time to me. So, this isn't meant to poke fun or start an argument with anybody, simply what is obvious. That is, American and Euro fighters can't be viewed side by side with each other. Dirrell outclassed and out boxed both Froch and Abraham, even those saying that Abraham had him on the verge of a ko know that Dirrell could have ran for the last rounds and won by a landslide...Abraham was embarrassed in there. He was the favorite and everyone picked him to win by KO but Dirrell put on a clinic! Like he did against Froch, the Froch fight would have been a UD win in America and anybody who respects technical boxing will agree.

This goes back to my point that the European system is a couple tiers beneath the American system. Look at all of the top tier Euro fighters in the last 10 years excluding Lennox Lewis who is an ATG to me, one of the best HW's ever.

Hatton-demolished once he fought top tier American fighters

Kessler-demolished once he fought top tier American fighters

Abraham-demolished once he fought an up and coming American fighter

Froch-demolished once he fought an up and coming American fighter but lost SD bc in Euro land

Calzaghe-Never faced top tier American fighters in their prime

Klit brothers-No top tier HW's for them to fight

Lucian Bute- soon to be demolished once he starts fighting top tier American fighters

    etc.

    etc.

Im just saying can we please stop trying to put the Euro boxing system side by side with the American system? No disrespect I'm just pointing out the facts :deal

I agree to a certain extent but then you could bend the facts the same way for European fighters beating American fighters.

Don't forget about a green Timothy Bradley going to England and smacking Junior Witter around, or a green Dawson picking Adamek apart. That's another thing about this Super Six Tourney. You have untested Americans smacking around top level, veteran, Euros. Can you imagine some untested Euro with 17 or 18 bouts smacking around an elite level American?

I disagree with Lucian Bute. He may not be able to beat Dirrell and Ward, but he's a North American fighter.

And Klitschko's don't use the protypical European style, but that doesn't mean that they wouldn't be beat by Tyson, Ali, etc...

ALi footwork too advanced for Klits . Tyson science breaks them apart. Every jab by them would be weaved and countered by hooks to the body or head.

So bend the facts for us all and show us what you mean specifically. The thread starter gave some pretty solid examples, and quite a few of them.

I don't like putting all europeans in the same category and all americans in the other, there are a few counter example as well, BTW lacy was considered top tier when he fought Calzaghe, just like Andrade when he fought Kessler. Dirrell also lost vs Froch.

Andrade is Mexican. Many thought Dirrell beat Froch. Either way, not many can watch that fight and say Froch looked like the better fighter. I'll give you Lacy though. He was a top American fighter and was dominated by Calzaghe. Usually though, Euros come up short against their American counterparts. To be fair though, that's usually the case when Americans go up against any foreigners.

so it's the klit brothers fault that no one is good in their division. you should try looking at it the other way. no fighter became good because the klit brothers beat up most of them.

Couldnt agree more. Ward is an exeption though I dont think hes your typical fighter hes something special. Dirrell just has that style of boxing where it is very difficult to hit him flush and hes deffinitely not your conventional come forward fighter that euros are acustomed to. Although I also think Calzage is one of the few euros who has the style to beat slick fighters: high work rate, great chin, and pretty good movement. I would have loved to see him fight Roy in his prime.

Hamed destroyed former world champ Kelly in NY
Honeygan outclassed P4P No 1 Curry in the USA
Benn annihilated Dewitt and Barkely in the states
Lennox Lewis has countless massacres of Americans in the USA on his resume.
Froch laid J.Taylor out in his own backyard.

The list of European fighters that easily beat so called top American fighters in the USA could go on and on but what's the point. Their is no generalisation that can be made from it which is what the original poster fails to recognise!
