There are quite a few people on this forum too who kept going on about how Usyk can't win by stoppage for the life of him (despite having 13 KOs on his resume but hey, these esteemed fellow members are not known for their intellect), and how he is unable to KO any HWs.

Apart from the fact that he indeed made Witherspoon want no more smoke, Usyk is known for his attitude about KOs. When the opportunity presents itself, he can score KOs but generally, he sees boxing as a sport and considers always going for the KO as unnecessary bloodthirst.

He explained as such: "Why are you so bloodthirsty? There is victory, everything is fine. Why is it necessary for a person to fall? He has relatives and friends, a mother and a father. This is a big chunk of health in minus if a person falls and loses. I’m not for that, and not for him to get up and forget what day it is."

Of course, as you can imagine, the same not-the-sharpest-tools-in-the-shed rubbished all this, labelling Usyk a pillow fist who just uses these thoughts to hide his inability to get his opponents out of the ring.

Last night Dubois clearly angered him with the low blow and after he recuperated, he clearly changed gears and wanted to chin Dubois. His whole demeanour, stance, and movement changed. The only other time I saw him like that was against that despicable thug Huck who shoved him at the presser and rabbit-punched him after he slipped and sat down on the canvas in the eighth. Just like then, he was angry last night and even without that power jab the fight would have been over soon as the referee would have stopped it due to Dubois' inability to defend himself from the punishment.

Angry Usyk is a H2H ATG top 5 imo. And I was thinking earlier too about the Huck fight! Love seeing that mean streak come out in him :D Especially against Dolts like Huck and dubois. They asked for it… They got it!

Fury is in deep **** :) Which is why I think he retires after clipping ngannou.

Yes his demeanor completely changed and he morphed into Dark Usyk and from that moment on he set about punishing Dubois and winning via KO or stoppage

That power jab he finished him with had a lot of weight and snap behind it

We saw an even more dark Dark Usyk against Huck. He was getting high off inflicting pain upon Huck in that one after he disrespected him during the build up to the fight

Also, he proved the haters wrong again who said he couldn't sell tickets. He sold out a 43,000 capacity venue last night and has sold very well in every country he's fought. That's over twice the amount of tickets that AJ has sold in his last two fights since losing to Usyk. How many other current fighters other than AJ, Clenelo and Belly have sold out venues that big?

Huck and Bellew also angered him. Go and find them in the graveyard of history.

I’m a fan of Usyk but your point about tickets is delusional and biased. There were quite a few empty seats and the tickets were really cheap for this event. Joshua sold out a 19,000 arena against Franklin and Helenius at ticket prices priced much higher. Put it this way, it would have been cheaper to book a two-way flight, hotel and tickets for Usyk vs Dubois than to watch Joshua against Franklin or Helenius. The same applies for Fury.

It's not delusional at all. He sold out a 43.000 capacity venue and the tickets were cheaper because his country is at war and he's giving back to his fans. He would sell out a 100,000 seater stadium in his home country now if not for the war. He's an international superstar now and he's annexed most of AJ's fans

''The data shows we could've sold 200,000 tickets for this fight'' --E-Hearn

AJ couldn't sell 200,000 on his own or even close

When Russian Gassiev fought fellow Russian star Lededev in Russia they staged the fight in the Khodynka Ice Palace which has a maximum capacity of 14,000

When Gassiev fought Dorticos in Russia they staged the fight in the Bolshoy Ice Dome which has a maximum capacity of 12,000

When Gassiev fought Usyk they staged the fight in the Olympic Stadium in Moscow which has a maximum capacity of 81,000

When Bellew fought fellow Brit Dave Haye in England they staged the fight in the 02 Arena which has a maximum capacity of 20,000

When Bellew fought international superstar Usyk in England they staged the fight in the Manchester Arena which has a maximum capacity of 23,500

Correct. He literally made Bellew to retire and finished Huck's meaningful career by battering him into irrelevance. Did that disgusting thug have any fights in the years since Usyk taught him a lesson? Maybe one or two against some creampuffs. He was practically made to retire as well.

He moves a lot, and it's harder to set up your punches for a let's call it like that 100% power shot. You need to sit on your punches to pull it all if that makes sense.
Obviously he ain't on AJ, Wilder, Dubois level of power, but he hit hard enough to earn respect and to make you think twice about coming forward, and that fight against Dubois is a good example.

Fury got the death glare and Usyk licked his lips. Fury's soul hasn't recovered since.

Oh for ****s sake. He beat Dubois. Other than the dodgy low blow, he dismantled him but it's Dubois. If Wilder or Joshua had erased him in a few rounds none of this exaggeration would be happening.

Angry, angry Usyk. That should be his new slogan. Seriously though, both him and Loma have a tendency to just hop around for a long time before throwing solid shots, I know you have to get a feel for an opponent but it took Usyk 8 rounds to throw with conviction that Lerena did in the 1st round. He got angry late in the fight, but in the mean time he kept Dubois around long enough to be almost taken out by a body shot. I hope we see more of mean angry Usyk in his next fights.

Not to sound righteous but I try to steer clear of blanket labelling, using terms like “Haters”.

However, it did strike me as to how many people were hair trigger ready to jump on Usyk when they thought they saw something wrong or that he did something wrong.

The man has been a consummate professional inside the ring and a perfect gentleman outside the ring. A GREAT advertisement for the sport.

Meanwhile, the conduct of others, like Fury, AJ etc, hasn’t been so pristine, perhaps considered per se, such conduct somehow being viewed as more acceptable - something fans have become “conditioned” to and therefore less sensitive to in their reactions?

I def. see The Tall Poppy Syndrome in play when it comes to Usyk - the need and/or desire to cut him down merely because of his stand out achievements to date.

I’m not one to knee jerk and imagine Usyk beating this that and the other ATG HW of the past, there are a good number I don’t think he beats - but the dude is a great fighter in his own right - and his achievements to date cannot be taken away from him.

Meanwhile, big mouth Fury still sits on his ***, after having clearly ducked Usyk - but on the turn of coin, Usyk is suddenly now the bad guy?, the villain?..…pulleeeasse! Very premeditated.

Time for Fury to get off that *** and finally put his $$$ where his mouth is. His legacy has rightfully been damaged - not Usyk’s.

Of course this is all just what “I feel”. :D
