Last night showed why fights need to be made

    On paper it looked like Cotto had every advantage. He was heavily favored to win. IF the fight had never been made, people woudl have just assumed that Cotto would have won anyway. Just like with Floyd. On paper he has everything it takes to beat Margarito, it seems as though there isn't even any point in making the fight since the outcome would be obvious, but unless thr fight is made we will never really know.

    very good point. this is why fights against PBF need to be made.

    Floyd is just one example but there are plenty of others in the sport. People write Diaz off in his chances against Casamayor, it's pretty much assumed that Cotto vs Hatton would be pointless at welter. I say make the fights and let the fighters show who is the better man forget about what the "experts" think
