He picked Chris to win two weeks ago. He or Roach didn't want Ruslan to fight Manny. Manny fights and beats Chris by KO in China giving Arum a nice payday and Manny tax free cash. Marquez v. Pacquiao V in 2015.
Maybe but Arum didn't force Provodnikov to get out landed in the majority of the rounds. Don't really want a Algieri vs Pacquiao fight yet he has one win over a top 10 fighter. Would like to see Algieri get a few more top level wins.
jesus christ....this 80 year old man, somehow is the most evil guy in boxing...fixes fights, pays off refs, pays off judges, tricks the most popular boxer in the world into signing contract after contract.... but somehow, we cant seem to find one piece of proof in 45 years that he did anything illegal. not with wire taps, hidden cameras everywhere, audio devices,,,and this slick old ******* has never left a paper trail nor had anyone that was disgruntled or snitched on him EVER. :rofl and yes i know there was a bribe to get his fighter "ranked" one time over 25 years ago, as to at least give him a chance to fight for a title. Thats so meaningless now because ABC organizations are the most corrupt thing in boxing.... yeah bob paid to get his fighter 1 time for a higher ranking...but the same organization with rank a fighter and give him a title shot after back to back losses in todays world :deal
Great idea have Ruslan a future potential money earner lose pushing down his marketability, nevermind the fact that a Ruslan Manny fight would barely sell. Replace him with a guy who you don't promote who is an even lesser name and make even less money on the PPV.atsch
if he's willing to bribe once before..... he's willing to do it again but he hasnt been caught sooooooo....meh
This sh*t doesn't even make sense. Some of hate Arum so much that you're willing to go full-****** just to bash him. Provo lost fair and square. It must baffle some of you that Provo didn't get the decision, in a fight I thought could have gone either way. If Provo won, then Arum was pulling the strings, but he didn't...and Arum is still pulling the strings. This remind me of people saying Arum planned for Pac to lose against Bradley in their first fight...something that makes no financial sense to Arum. Maybe this may surprise people...but Arum isn't as corrupted as you think he is. You want to know what's corrupted? Danny Garcia winning against Herrera and Malik Scott taking a dive against Wilder, on the same card.
Well, he did get busted in that IBF lawsuit back in the Old George Foreman days. --- But no. If anything was going to be "staged" last night, it would have been for Provodnikov to secure a victory. They aren't looking to build up Algieri, who Top Rank doesn't promote, over the recent fan favorite who has generated buzz, warranted or not, in Provodnikov.
Neither Ruslan nor Algieri are promoted by Top Rank,so in the whole scheme of things why does Arum give a flying fadoo about either guy.
I doubt it since Ruslan would be a cheaper, more realistic option than Marquez and it's a fight that would actually sell... I think Algieri - Pac could be interesting a year from now, but the guy needs a couple more bigger wins first
TS is reaching and he knows it....the bribe money would be more than Algieri made probally...it just doesnt make sense at all to do it for this fight.:yep
