Last night the public got to see how pathetic the majority of the heavyweight division is. . Whyte ,who looked like he trained with Ruiz should have fought him in the super lard bowl. Poor Wach was as shot as an empty bottle of tequila . Then we got to see Hunter struggle with a 40 year old Povetkin who was gassed in the 10th round. Then you had the main event, an historical heavyweight fight, the worst prepared fighter in history defends his belt against a man who's scared to death of this obese slop bucket and runs from him for 12 dreadful rounds. Joshua acted like a dog who sees the masters belt and scurries away.
HW has always been a bit weak. Most people aren't that big, so there's not that big of a talent pool.
I'm surprised you were expecting a war since I know you as a quality and knowledgeable poster. Everybody thought AJ was goig to fight extremely catiously like Lewis did vs Tua. Probably you thought that AJ didn't have enough skills for the performance like that and were expecting him to brawl with Ruiz at some point of the fight, because you thought he couldn't implement a catious "jab-move" tactics effectively?
Was not a great show fight wise but that happens. Good performance from Joshua. I like knockouts as much as the next man but excluding a couple of moments he had a good night. Used the powerful jab well, Ruiz face was making up all night plus a few right hands.
He looked so open to that Overhand right, maybe just didn't respect Molina enough to try and move out of the way though.
