I can tell that very few posters watched last nights Top Rank card because there are no threads about Soto/Chavez, or Cermeno/Valdez; two great fights. The guys who bitched and moaned about this PPV were dead wrong. You missed a hell of a good show.

Martirosyan stopped Willie Lee in three action packed rounds. I think he is getting close to taking a real step up the food chain.

Soto/Chavez was a barn burner. Chavez is in the twilight of his career, but no way in hell was he willing to "go quietly into the night." Soto boxed his ears off, but the fight was much more competetive than the score cards indicate. Chavez never let up.

Cermeno/Valdez was awesome. A real blood and guts affair. Going into the 11th round Cermeno's corner screwed up and told him it was the last round. Cermeno came out looking to take the fight out of the hands of the judges in Valdez's home town. I was afraid he was going to blow his whole wad only to find out he had one more round to go, but nope, he got the job done and closed the show.

Pavlik/Espino was a bit better than expected. The first round was competetive. The second was good. In round three KP started grinning that stupid grin that says "this **** is just about over." All in all a rather brutal five round affair.

Cermeno/Valdez was the fight of the night. I would like to see Cermeno/Agbeko.

Ya Cermeno/Valdex was a savage fight.

Pavlik/Espino was actually pretty good to watch, wasn't expecting much.

Only saw the second half of the Soto fight, but it seemed pretty good too.

Not a bad night of boxing.

Yeah, I was gonna make a thread similar to this one last night but I knocked out. The card was entertaining from top to bottom, which is more than you can say for most HBO PPVs.

He should have been considering he outboxed Valdez in the early rounds and scored two (flash) knockdowns.

Pretty sick KO for Cermeno, I didn't think Valdez was gonna get up.

Dont think they got many buys. I order almost any fight. Snowed in without the NFL Network, didnt buy this one. The online PPV sights are falling off, by the way. :verysad

4 of the 5 fights delivered lots of action, drama, and excitement. The featherweight prospect/journeyman fight wasn't much, but the rest were good. Well worth the $40 bucks.

It may have been good in hindsight but the card was not worthy of PPV. Plenty of Friday Night Fight cards over here are fun as ****, but you can expect people to pay for them.

It was $50 on AT&T Uverse and I wasn't going to pay that. Let's just say I had to see it in something less than HD format.

I was in attendance in Youngstown so I only saw the fights there. Had some local fights of interest and other stuff. For $50 I was pretty happy with my seats. I could have moved down but it wasn't worth the effort as the seats I had were just fine. 1/2 the price I paid for the other venue in Youngstown and twice as close.
