I reeeeeeally want to see Soto v. Chavez. If I were local, I would definitely have bought a ticket. After all, in the last Latin Fury I went to, I was introduced to the Steamin' Beeman, who beat that theme to death, brought it back to life and beat it to death all over again.
Espino showed a lot of heart and courage and I salute him for that. But Pavlik's just on another level.
I'd guess 75/80% when all was said and done. Not sure how many paid. Bottom line, it was a rush job and was what it was. In truth I wasn't all that excited about it at first. Well, mainly because of my 'between job' status. Turned out to be a very good venue from a seat distance/price perspective. I was twice as close at half the price of the last one. Before I got there I though we might be able to move down, but once I was seated I honestly didn't see the need to bother. In case you missed my Korobov thread. I asked my son what he thought and he said he wasn't impressed with the kid's jab and thought if he would just get in the pocket he could end the fight. Pretty much on cue that is what happened and the begining of the end started with an upper cut. I turned to my son and said, "You mean like that?"
it wasnt bad at all, i paid for 39.99 for it and i think i got at least 29.99's worth of entertainment out of it the official attendance # was 3409
Didnt miss it. And it was totally free on local Philippine TV. Was eating my early lunch while watching the fight at home, Sunday morning. Nice. :yep
$40 may have been worth your money that night, but what about the other nights of $40 where you got robbed...thats prob why you think it was worth the money....but in fact, these were showtime/ HBO caliber fights (and thats being generous) which i already pay for....$40 will buy me HBO for 4 months....
If your finances are that tight, I sincerely hope things get better for you. In my world $40 just isn't all that important.
i tip $40 at the bar on weds night after a few drinks....its not an issue ive bought more ppv boxing matches over the last 20 years than you have. and was rebutting your point it was worth $40. it was worth that to you because of your hard on love for KP. would you have paid $40 for that same card-take away KP and put in Williams vs the sacrificial lamb? prob not...not worth your $40 then :huh
