I think he ate a couple in the first attack. Don't see any land in the second. They're not very flush, as Floyd has his high guard up, but Floyd is not responding with anything and is ceding ground when he doesn't have to. I'm sure Floyd's still a human being and has stylistic flaws just like every other fighter in history. Giving up the center and pulling straight back are not recommended. Floyd stopped him legally, but not in a moment of competition. What I'm saying is that I would have liked to see the fight play out naturally and to see him stop Ortiz by boxing with both fighters aware, not catching him by surprise with his hands down in the 4th.
People say the fight was a mauling because of how bad the 3rd round was. And it was. I scored it 10-8 which I rarely ever do. However, the 4th would have gone to the Ortiz on the judges cards. The judges cant watch youtube in slow motion and count punches landed. Ortiz sending Floyd to ropes twice would have trumped anything Floyd did early in the round. Still the thing about that round was how after taking some good shots from floyd Ortiz got a smile on his face. I think he realized that Floyd couldn't hurt him. It would have been nice to see the rest of the fight.
You're mistaking rolling with shots for "eating" shots. Floyd does it all the time. He jerks back the second contact is made and people react like he got hit, but he doesn't get hit cleanly. Edit: I'm not trying to get in a long debate about this. The proof is in the zero damage to Floyd's face.
yes, every time ortiz landed, he wasn't really landing. Floyd was choosing to move his head back atsch That's almost as bad as *******s saying, he really was landing on Marquez, but his punches were too fast for everyone to see. Only joking thawk, i get what you mean really :good
Just about everyone swells up after a fight. Seconds before the KO This content is protected His face is fine. Which is actually surprising considering all the shots he took in the 3rd.
OMG a welt!!! Dude did you see the beating he took in the 3rd and all that Floyd has to show for it is a small developing welt under the eye. I've seen *****'s argue that Ortiz eye was almost closed.
People that know boxing, which I would say is at least 75% of the people on this site, know what they saw.. The other 25% saw Victor attacking and took that as " he was winning the fight" when in reality he landed maybe 2 good shots.. The initial one backed him up on the ropes, but was not getting anything significant. He did connect a lot on his shoulders if they want to count that.. Then he got desperate and tried to break his nose, which he admitted later..
