Last time Money Mayweather fought an opponent NOT coming off a sensational victory?

Floyd will always get overlooked and dissed because he is just the "bad guy" of boxing. He chose to be the heel of boxing.

He's one of my favorite boxers of all time after RJJ, but Mayweather's selection of opponents will be insulted until he retires, wrongfully so. Pacquiao is basically just following Mayweather's footsteps but he's the "good guy" so he can face who Mayweather faced and get cheered for it, while Floyd gets boo'ed for it.

Oscar has a superior jab, hook, right hand, balance, defense, chin, combinations, power, hand speed, etc to Cotto. That ATG jab opens up a cut on Miguel's paper face and foo gets stopped by a hook.

A true HOFer like Mosley ended up taking marg's soul and selling it to the devil. Oscar isn't no manny, he stops marg too.

 

Mayweather donates to charity and gives out free turkeys. Mayweather is the goody two-shoes of boxing. How can you NOT be a Mayweather fan? :roll:

They're jealous because emmanuel chose to fight the two true blue HOFers Oscar and Mosley when they were shot to pieces and gets no credit for it from real boxing fans.

 

yeah man it's like saying Shane Mosley would beat SRR. Robby is pretty much just a very much better version of Shane.

you are describing the oscar of his prime years. far from the oscar that floyd fought at 154. since sturm he was on the a decline fighting just once a year. cotto by that time in 2007 has the more superior jab, has the faster hand, quicker and was more mobile using his foot. margarito would of made oscar the part-time promoter he is by that time. margarito will come strong the 2nd half of the fight and would pound on the gassing oscar.

i know oscar was great, but he is not the same fighter as he used to be by the time he fought floyd. just a year later, forbes demostrated this and a lightweight pac made him retire and concentrate on promoting.

well don't you think his performance against margarito was sensational? and ortiz was not coming from a TKO/KO win either but does not stop floyd from taking the fight. i actually read your full post but just commented on the underlined part. i just love how some people would come up with all the crazy ideas and some would pick them up as some sort of fact.

 

I wish more PPL would fight top guys like Mayweather does

 

i guess the the thread has a point, problem is that there are question marks behind a lot of the wins. mosely was coming off a 16 month lay off and was 39. jmm had barely settled into lightweight and was then moving up 2 weight divisions. hatton was moving up to a weight where he looked poor in the past etc. it seem that floyd is good at choosing opponents who maybe have some unjustified hype surrounding them, getting advantages at the negotiating table and then selling the fight with his own much hated personality. boxing is a business and floyds good at it.
