You asked for Lineal vs Lineal, you were given examples then you moaned and moved the goal posts.

Isn't that what I just said?

Also Clay - Why did you not consider B- Hop the man at the time he fought Calzaghe? After all he did beat Tarver, who beat Johnson, who had beaten Tarver, who had beaten Roy Jones...

Who did you consider the man at 175 at that time?

the points you make here are great. the day before hill beat maske for the "linear" title, jones beat mccallum for the wbc belt at 175. so you have jones who at the time was the #1 pound for pound fighter in the world, with a belt at 175 during the hill-maske fight. the problem is that there was/is a huge dislike for jones. the chumps at cyberboxingzone, most historians and where ever else they pontificate about the sport have usually had an agenda against jones. this is part of the reason he's my favorite fighter.

He may have a claim... but it's a weak one!

Hopkins beat Tarver who won 2 out of 3 vs. Jones. Tarver also beat G. Johnson who had wins over Tarver and Jones. Jones had beat Hill, McCallum, Reggie Johnson, Del Valle, and Griffin 1 out of 2.

After Spinks we saw many LHW Champs... Jones was the only one who held the IBF, WBA, and WBC belts at the same time.

Yes, Michalczewski did very well and he did beat Hill who had beat Maske... this means he held the WBO, IBF, and WBA belts at the same time, for a minute. He vacated the IBF and WBA belts and went back to beating the likes of Nicky Piper and Mark Prince. Meanwhile, Jones picked up those belts beating the likes of Lou Del Valle (WBA, he had given Hill a tough fight) and Reggie Johnson (IBF).

Jones was the better fighter IMO and a case can be made for either guy being the linear champ but if I had to pick one I'd pick Jones!

Jones only unified titles that other fighters were stripped of. :-(

He didn´t vacate those belts. He got stripped because IBF/WBA was looking for ways to give their titles to the more lucrative Jones.

We don´t know if Jones as better than DM. He was too afraid too fight the Pole. :tong

For whatever it is worth CBZ have gone with the Pascal Dawson lineage now, doubtless glad to be releived of the burden of carrying Eredi as the lineal champion.

Nah, Marquez lost to Pac for 130 supremacy in his fight prior to Casamayor.

Last time two reigning lineal champions met: Mayweather vs. Hatton, 2007. Pretty big fight at the time.
