yes, he's been terrible. But the odds are 3 or 4 to 1 against Jones. Hopkins is 45 years old. He is neither quick nor powerful. Jones may be competitive.

Lost on the scorecards only. Those were terrible gift decisions. HBO was pushing its latest hype job, and the boxing establishment wanted to get rid of Hopkins.

Hopkins has been hanging on by befuddling (a Lampley word, sorry) younger fighters with his defense and all around boxing smarts. One thing that may be a factor is that Jones has fought Hopkins (admittedly a long time ago) and may be less unnerved by his style than, say, Kelly Pavlik.

It really isn't as impossible as it seems as Hopkins is stylistically the right fighter for Jones to beat. I still pick Hopkins but I am going all out for Jones. Jones will always be one of my favorites.

there is taking a risk and then there is suicide, taking that pick is the equivalent of jumping out of an Airplane 40K feet up and flapping your arms.

I think Roy has a chance, but it is hard to go against Hopkins. If Hopkins loses, that means he aged overnight.

I am anticipating this match up, even if this has been late by a decade.

It'll be for free next week, on Philippine TV.

The likelihood of aging overnight radically increases every year past 30. B-Hop is 45. Hasn't fought in a year. You do the math.

Note, we know Roy has aged overnight. That's a known-known. It's factored in.

One out of two ain't bad, then again it really ain't that good either. As posted earlier the only way I see Jones winning is if B-Hop just gets old real fast. I hope he retires after this beating.
