Hopkins fought the same day that Jones went to sleep in his last fight. That hasn't been a year.

people dont understand that Roy have great chances to win this fight. he looked terriuble against Green and this may downgrade the odds on him... but offensivly he is still a beast and Green was a very Dangerous fighter... now jones got better relfexe, speed and ability than Hopkins. Hopkins got the better defense and knowledge... but is not a powerful fighter or really dangerous... also confidence play agaisnt Hopkins in this one

and Jones have confidence playing in his side. Jones nothing to lose at this point and B-hop everything to lose... losing against a "shot" Jones would really tarnish the aura of "not aging Hopkins".

THe way I see it is Roy being faster and more active throwing many more punch but missing some because of Hopkins defense awareness... I see a clsoe fight but clsoe decision for Roy.

:good add to the fact that hopkinss stamina may not be there anymore to dominate and accumulate points in the latter rounds

It wouldn't totally shock me if Roy wins. I know that Roy isn't vintage Roy or anywhere near it. But let's face it, Hopkins has had trouble with quick handed fighters in his career, and even though Roy's handspeed isn't anywhere near what it once was it's still pretty fast. Also, lost in the total annihilation of Roy at the hands of Danny Green is that Hopkins didn't look overwhelming against the much smaller Enrique Ornelas. I'm not a fan of Roy's and I do like Hopkins quite a bit, but it wouldn't shock me if Roy won.

Wow people here act like Roy is facing a young stallion like Chad Dawson... Hopkins is 45...I repeat Hopkins is 45 and he can't fight either like he's 30... He looked good with Pavlik 1 1/2 years ago cause Pavlik came up in weight, was sick and because, Pavlik came to him all night to get countered.

Roy Jones fights at the same pace as Hopkins, likes to counter like Hopkins but has the quicker hands.

When's the last time Hopkins swarmed a fighter and put serious pressure on him ? Like 6 years ago !! That was DLH...the much smaller man.

Hopkins has only fought 1 guy around his true weight since he moved up to fight Tarver 4 years ago.

Roy may not be what he use to be but Hopkins is tailor made for him at 45 years of age !!!

Just like in the past, I said Margarito would beat Cotto when like 70% of ESB had Cotto winning before the fight.

I said Mosley would beat Margarito when he was a huge underdog.

I said Dirrell would beat Abraham when the majority of people here had Abraham a winner.

NOW I SAY ROY JONES BEATS HOPKINS, when again most don't see it !

People still gave Dirrell a chance to win that fight which he did. We knew he had the skills and he showed them. RJJ can win but his biggest tool in the past were his speedy legs which he doesn't have anymore so all Hops has to do is hug and get Jones to waste energy in clinches so Hopkins doesn't have to waste the energy he'll need if he tries to finish Jones. I agree that people aren't giving RJJ a chance when he can still win but it's a long shot.
