Veteran referee Russell Mora will now take charge of the trilogy. They replaced previously sanctioned official Mike Ortega.

And there has also been a judge alteration for the clash, with New Jersey’s Steve Weisfeld now set to join the official team ringside for the unified title showdown.

Patricia Morse Jarman, originally was chosen to judge the heavyweight attraction but she has now been replaced.

I legit did a double take because I read it as Mayorga, what a wild ride it would be if this were to happen .

Weisfeld is OK. 116-112 in Usyk-Joshua was too narrow, but at least it wasn't 115-113.
Tim Cheatham I remember for giving the most reasonable score in Loma-Lopez, 112-116, so not bad.
Dave Moretti has scored a few Fury bouts fairly.

I'm trying to keep better track of judges, anything else notable from these three? They are familiar names but it's hard to keep track given how many they score.

It's to distract people from the plan.

Let's be honest, it's not going to go to the judges

The return of Weisfeld to replace Jarman is welcome, but I don't see the judges being needed.

Mora did a good job with Valdez-Berchelt recently. My recollection of him is that he doesn't jump in to end fights unless guys are about asleep on their feet (Mauricio Herrera) or abort counts unless a fighter is exhibiting negative body language on the deck (Tyron Zeuge, Berchelt landing flat on his face after a prolonged beating), though I may have forgotten instances to the contrary.

Article doesn't state, but anyone have any word on why these changes were made? Did Arum push for them?

I would say both are positive changes, particularly the judge swap.

So these changes aren't a result of any Vegas corruption? Everything is on the up and up, changing judges and the referee at the last minute, not anything out of the ordinary for you?

Do we know what prompted these changes? Objections from the fighters / camps?

Mora is okay but does he have experience with HWs? Separating the fighters could be critically important.

Agreed that the judges likely will not be needed, but they were in the first fight so who knows.
