    He doesn't punch hard. Just because you don't punch hard doesn't mean you can't stop people. Muhammad Ali was a light hitter, but was a KO artist regardless. There is more to knocking people out than punching hard.

    Kovalev hits much harder than Ward. But Ward didn't gas. Ward didn't hit air.

    It wasn't Ward's power that was the difference, it was Kovalev's stamina issues. He was on pace to throw around 700 punches, he clearly can't keep up that pace. When a boxer is exhausted they are more open for shots and take longer to recover.
