I'm pretty interested in this match and wanted to get everyone's opinion on who will come out victorious in this match on Thursday. Any input is appreciated.

    Ortiz should clobber this goof.

Kayode has always had problems with southpaws. (dropped a few rounds each to Godfrey and Cora; schooled by old bloated Milk Dud)

...plus, even if Ortiz had no skill (and he does have plenty, up there with the big Cuban defectors...although like his brethren he does have a lazy streak and doesn't stay in the best shape) and was as much a mindless brawler as Kayode is, you have to pick the much larger and more powerful brawler...which is Ortiz.

The deck is totally stacked against the Nigerian. The only way he stands a chance is Ortiz having been harboring a bad glass jaw this whole time. (which, granted, the best people to have tested it until now would've been a shot-to-bits 2 Gunz and harder-than-average punching journeymen Pineda and Mendoza...)

    No problem.

I mean it, Ortiz would have to have been hiding away some real glass to get sparked out by a former cruiser. (whose power even down there - in spite of his nickname being "Power" - was more than mediocre but not amazing, never among the very biggest hitters in the division when he was there...)

...and that is the only method by which Kayode might win this, with Ortiz's length and pedigree it would be almost impossible to outbox him. (even though Kayode has Freddie Roach in his corner; Kayode has shown no improvement under Roach, just stagnating)

Ortiz should win easily, maybe by late KO, maybe by decision, not sure by which method.

    Ortiz by decision.
    Kayode's 0 will go.

    Depends on his motivation level.

    Half-ass effort gets a decision.

    Anything more gets a KO.

They call this a title fight but it's just another cross roads fight between HW prospects.

The winner gets a top 25 ranking in my book. Nothing more.

Ortiz is bigger, stronger, and more skilled.

But Koyode is faster, has a solid beard, and probably a better inside game.

Im taking the younger fresher Koyode to win this......Ortiz looks the part, but at 35 y/o and having his finest hour vs a 43 y/o Barrett coming off a 2 yr layoff......

Yeah, gotta believe Roach is gonna have Koyode going all out and early.:think

I made a 100% ignored thread about Ortiz that died, then died after bumping it. Figured absolutely no one was interested. I believe he will likely smash Kayode and matches up with him very well.
That's the way I see it. Seen pictures of Ortiz lately though-the guy LOOKS in serious shape. I'm very pleased by how he seems to be working.

I think it wouldn't be as onesided as most here believe it is.

A 8-4 type UD for Ortiz is what I expect, in a pretty dull fight too.

Ortiz is a freakin monster and he's more of a risk taker than most Cuban fighters, but he fights smart, very cool, confident. Kayode does have a chance, but going up against a Cuban heavyweight as your 1rst or 2nd fight at hw not a wise move. But then Roach is a master at matching his fighters, he had to have seen something in Ortiz that Kayode could expose. Maybe in his mind he sees Castillo-Cley Bey happening?
