Hey, it's all in good humour. While I don't particularly like Hopkins's style, I respect him as a boxer and admire his achievements. I'm also aware that a large amount of my dislike of B-Hop comes from the fact that he ended Winky's long streak of major wins.

Its best to stay off this forum when discussing anything regarding Calzaghe and Hopkins.

The only poster whose views have been balanced, fair and accurate in this thread that I can see is that Brooklyn chap.

The amount of idiots that rehash alot of old tripe without any analysis whatso ever makes any reasonable debate or discussion impossible.

 

how was that fair? how can you disregard wright going up to fight hopkins yet ignoring the fact that hopkins also went up after fighthing as middleweight for most of his career to fight tarver and be the man at 175? That was just no fair assesment.

I agree that people should just shut up for now and continue the **** talks after fight night.:deal

 

Hopkins cheats.

 

Mostly based on pure ignorance. He did have all the advantages that night. Lacy was also the favourite against Calzaghe. He didn't have a hope in hell of winning.

 

Come to the British forum and have a look at some of my threads on Hopkins.

I think you will find im pretty fair.

 

I didn't say you didn't respect him I was just pointing out the fact a lot of people seem to think Calzaghe will make Hopkins do things he doesn't normally do which he won't. I'm not saying Joe won't win but as for making Hopkins jab with him that just wont happen.

I'll vouch for that. Changed my opinion of Beatboxer as a poster completely. Not that I didn't respect him as a poster anyway but the objectivity shown was something entirely unexpected & some will find his verdict quite surprising.

hopkins has admitted in the past that he is fine at LHW and only boiled down to MW because there was more money and more chances in the division.

yet another anti-calzaghe thread that seems to annoyingly appear on this site every day. calzaghe called out bhop in his prime and he declined. the only reason he's taken the fight now is so he has an excuse when calzaghe batters and out works bhop to a late stoppage. if the fight happened with them both being in their prime it would have been a tough to call 50/50.
