I don't see anythign wrong if my boy fight matt hatton especially in the U.K cause this is a marketing strategy which is a wise business decision by team mayweather. This would be just like tyson fighting douglas in japan to make more fans and to give love to fans other than the american public.

marquez may be a tune up but he was the 2nd best fighter in the world and floyd outclassed him, didn't chavez sr, robinson took bums for tune ups and they're still atgs? Give him a break man, he needs to stay active and to give some love to fans in other countries and he's just doing that. Matt hatton is a good choice because he is well known and is most importantly british because he is fighting in britain simple.

I don't get why other floyd fans would seem to start hating on mayweather and get out of his bandwagon, you people just can't see the business side of things:-( I can understand fans jumping out of bandwagons because their boy got exposed! i.e like mexicans switching to *******s:rofl but floyd has never been expose and will never be expose cause he is legit!:deal

Reading your post is like reading the book: "The Mind of a Serial Killer".

    It's all bent.

The problem isn't that hes fighting a British fighter its that he's fight a crappy British fighter. I mean Hatton isn't even the best ww over there so why in gods name would you pick him. I mean a Khan fight at catchweight would be more challenging then this utter pile of crap.

I mean I get taking the occasional tune up but that's what his last fight was. I get wanting to attract fans from another country but when doing it at least chose a real fighter.

After having people excited to see him against Pac (the biggest fight in boxing) and the fight not happening....you have to understand why people would be enraged from such a step down.

Like I said, the best thing he could do is fight the winner of Berto/mosley or some other top WW.

khan is not even a welterweight, didn't floyd got a lot of criticisms when he fought marquez at a catchweight and couldn't even make weight? there is no other good choice for a british fighter since there aren't many british fighters that are known at welter, plus thats why its a tune up, the level of opponent doesn't matter even if it is garbage because it is just a tune up and you i could understand if people even write that off his resume afterwards.

I could see him fighting jennings or other british bloke but matt hatton is ricky's little brother and that makes it all a bit more marketable for a tune up

In Floyd's defense, Mosley didn't talk loud enough during that interview. Floyd has busted ears at that time and hence he can't hear that much. He might have misunderstood what Mosley said. When PW called Floyd, Floyd was in the bathroom at those times. Just wrong timing.

But this time, when Matthew called, Floyd was in the gym when his phone rang. The rest is history. This just proves that Floyd doesn't back out against anyone who calls him for a fight. That is the warrior spirit!

Btw, Floyd also heard it when Malignaggi called but he can only fight one at a time. Malignaggi has to wait his turn after Matthew.

You don't seem to understand his last fight was a tune up. You don't just get to keep taking tune up fights your entire career. And your right about the Khan thing it wouldn't be a great fight but it would still be better then this.

Can't wait to bump this thread when Floyd fights either Pacquiao or the winner of Berto-Mosley...You idiots will latch on to any rumor as long as it discredits Mayweather

I will be the first one to call Floyd a fraud if this fight happens but its highly unlikely..He knows what his options are and Mathew isn't one of them

i don't see anythign wrong with another tune up after all his 1st tuneup was the 2nd best fighter in the world, and like i said atgs like robinson in the past had like several tune ups leading to a great fight why can't floyd have the same? plus like i already pointed out its a business decision

Marquez was anything but the 2nd best fighter in the world at that weight.

He was more like the 200th best fighter in the world.
