There is a major difference between Robinson and Floyd. Fighters in Robinson's era fought once a month or more, some times much more. So the tune up fights served as recovery time also. Fighters of this generation normally will have 3 fights a year the easy fights aren't needed anymore. I mean 2 "tune up" fights in this generation is at least have a year down, for some its the whole year down the toilet. Whereas for Robinson two shitty fights could be accomplished in one month.

Its not just number of crappy fights its how much time is lost from it.
