I spoke to someone on the Cotto Team and they said the hold up is with the PPV share and even if that is worked out he could not confirm the location for some apparent reason... He also mentioned that if the PPV situation is worked out, the fight won't be announced till next week at the earliest. I should be talking to him tomorrow regarding the after party situation so I will try to get more info soon.

cheers for the update. im not surprised there are difficulties with the negotiations - both teams know their boys are in a for one hell of a tough test and want to ensure the best possible share of the likely huge profits.

this could be the most exciting fight since castillo/corrales 1, please god/allah/buddha make it happen!

Thanks for the update. Some of these teenybopper posters seem to think all fights can and will be signed, sealed, and delivered in one day.

The HBO numbers on the doubleheader are no indication that this fight will do bad. Both Margarito and Cotto were huge favorites in their doubleheader and so it makes a bit of sense that a lot of people didn't tune in.

The actual fight between the two should do just fine on PPV. And a solid undercard can only help.

This is the biggest Mexico vs Puerto Rico boxing match since Tito vs Vargas. It should do rather well.

Not to mention the fact that Showtime had a show on the same night as well with a bigger name in Milk Dud.

That said I understand the precaution when it comes to this as a PPV fight....HBO is pretty selective with it's money nowadays.

yep, today in a newspaper of P.R. "El Nuevo Dia" they talk about basically what "Tito Time" said and that Cotto is back to his morning running and that next week he will be back in the gym to start to prepare for Margarito,

i guess the fight is almost a done deal

    Lets get Ready to Rumble!!
