Dorticos, Tabiti, Noel Gevor and Ruslan Fayfer all set to join the tournament. Bejenaru's participation is likely as well. Mike Perez looks likely. Jean Pascal and Jai Opetaia looks possible for this competition as well. Lerena set to miss out on the spot in competition because of his recent loses. Mihail Cieslak will not participate also because he has two fights coming up, one in September and one later. Arsen Goulumirian is set to fight in October, so he is set to miss out also.
As great as the first cruiserweight wbss was and the bantamweight line up is great. I suspect this will peater out like th Super Six did, just not as quickly.
While this is totally unnecessary and diminishes the image that WBSS winner provides the best fighter in any given division... ...why the hell not? The quality so far has been stellar, and you can have good fights with lower level talent. In the end, whoever wins CWr2 can legitimately challenge Usyk if still around. I'd include Breidis tho. In a boxing ring I suppose.
Definitely. This is a disappointing, B level, fringe-contender tournament, much lower level than even the super middle field, and tarnishes the purpose of the WBSS. But it still looks like a pretty competitive tourney, and should provide some worthwhile boxing. It would just make better sense if they went ahead with it but didn't give it the WBSS label, called it an 'aspiring champions supporting tournament', or something.
Maybe it's just my families recipe but the meatloaf we make is better the next day. Agree on Crusierweights again though, ugh.
