So sad.Reminds me of the scne from The Wrestler. 300 lbs and still wants to fight. Doesn't even know his birth year.Siging autographs for 35 bucks.
That is really heart breaking to see Former Undisputed hw Champion in such a poor position..:verysad Just ****in damn... His career was liie Star Fly or something, it all ended before it barely started. he was really great boxer that shor time he really Shined:-(
Very sad indeed. It's just sad to see a guy who was on top of the world just 15 years ago, is now reduced to signing autographs at some flea market to help make ends meet.
CharlesWhite should help him out. I really wish these managers would put some of their fighters through some finance courses. Or at least teach them how to friggin budget their money.
Wishfull thinking. It most happens to these guys who comes from poor circumstances, it is all too Sad and Familiar story. Classic Story of Cruelty of Boxing behind the Glory. He basically gave his life to boxing and it all ends like this.:-(
Sad but it's really hard for me to find any kind of sympathy for a one time multi millionaire who blew his money. He made in 1 fight more than i will make in my life. Weird thing is that as crazy as Golota was he is set financially as opposed to some of his counterparts(Tyson,Bowe,Holy)...
Right. Guys who go from nothing to everything all too fast and don't understand that it doesn't last forever. You go from making nothing to a million dollars in a few years? Tough to control yourself. Still there needs to be some accountability for these managers who make them famous and then drop them as quickly as they made em. I wish they'd make some sort of an attempt to educate these guys. Maybe we wouldn't have so many guys like Tyson, Holyfield, Moorer and Barkley drowning in debt.
Rock Newman was damn near brilliant in his management of Bowe. He made him a ****-pile of money as he (Newman) also acted (on occasion) as promoter. Apparently Bowe pissed it all away and yes that's sad but it's hard to feel sorry for him.
Exactly right he would have earned more than the average guy could hope for in many lifetimes At least he has a name to live off however small , there is millions more worse cases in this world even in just the same country
He's joined the garbage that he threw his belt in. Incidently I wonder if Bowe still has the same garbage can that he tossed his heavyweight belt into, he might get $50 on ebay for it, or possibly the fork he stabbed his wife with!!
