This is the Tomas Villa that stood toe to toe with Mtagwa for 10 rounds for a fight of the year type of war.

    Round 6

These two are trading punches like they were Pokemon cards. All the action is now pretty much constrained to a tight area, with Sanchez occasionally backing up and Villa following, from one set of ropes to the next before Sanchez settles down and starts punching. Sanchez has the faster hands but has a big old head that he doesn't move or otherwise work to defend, so Villa is getting some shots in. Villa now firing uppercuts like they're going out of style. Sanchez jabs and moves a bit toward round's end.

That was Sal's best round in a while.

It feels a bit hypocritical to defend him and say that it's unfair to hold him to his name's standard, when I'm such a dick toward Chavez Jr. - but at least Sal II has never headlined a Pay Per View (let alone several) - and at least he appears to like boxing and takes his training seriously, even if he doesn't have much to show for it.

    Round 7

Sanchez punching with Villa now, two or three for every one from Villa. Sanchez rocking the head of Villa with upperhooks and keeping him lined up with right hands. Villa stifles him and pushes him to the ropes and reaches around to bang the back of Sanchez's body. Villa getting tagged now whenever there's space. Villa arm-weary as he punches his way in on Sanchez, who's shelled up on the ropes, unsure of just how hurt he had Villa. Sanchez begins to circle and jab in the full expanse of the ring. Villa walks after him but doesn't punch. Sanchez opts to lead and hits Villa with the jab and right hand.

Sanchez on a two round roll but could still be narrowly behind on points.
