Roach is an awesome coach and has a great team behind him. Any fighter can improve his game with him. Chavez went from C level training to A level training, there were going to be improvements

Didn't you see Duddy's legs for the last 4 rounds. The guy is a warrior...he's unbelievable...but he was getting hit with flush bombs from round 1 onwards...

We don't need to have an argument over this, and I think name calling is riduclous, but that was brutal...and I personally haven't seen a fight at this level more one sided and brutal for 12 rounds over the last 7 years. Sure, we see fights get settled in 3-4 lopsided rounds but this was sustained.

 

That fight, Jr HAD TO USE DIURETICS to make weight. Of course he'd look like trash. He got suspended for six months.

DAMN MAN.

If you gonna hate, LEARN your trash first.

 

Now that he got punching power, iron chin and stamina against middle a middle weight. He would destroy Cotto.

at 160 cotto's lack of power could keep the fight interesting, but at 154 cotto wears jr down for a late tko.

 

Freddy Roach is some kinda trainer... the guys he trains become faster, gain more stamina, and everything... their performance is enhanced a great deal. When have we ever seen Chavez Jr fight like this...

 

Lacy getting slapped for 12 rounds. No.

Brutal but Hopkins weren't landing bombs as successively as Chavez. No.

Cotto wasn't getting hit flush for the last 4-5 rounds..he was running so no.

By all means carry on but is it not a testament to how brutal and one sided this fight was that you had to bring up Holmes/Cobb to stump me?

A C level fighter with A level training is still a C level fighter. I hate to be the one to break it to you. I am not talking skill here ass head. I am talking pure phyiscality. Punching power, chin and stamina. 5 weeks in a roach camp and he doubles up on all of the said above. Do you think if Chavez Jr looked like this or even close in any fight we would have doubted him.. Nobody took this dude seriously but he looked like Margarito in there with more power.

 

Vanes didn't look that special last time out for a so-called SUPER ROACH fighter. Greene was pretty good though.
