Marco Antonio Barrera vs. Adailton De Jesus

Round 1

MAB posturing, watching DJ circle. MAB unloads a right hand that crashes into the glove of DJ. DJ bouncing around, gloves up. DJ darts in for a body shot but MAB moves out of the way, backward at an angle. MAB puts together a three punch combo, jab and double hook downstairs. More hooks to the body from MAB. DJ falls short with a jab and right hand to MAB's body. MAB digs a hook into the ribs of DJ, who keeps moving faster than MAB can catch up to him. MAB with head feints, not running in recklessly, watching DJ. MAB puts up his gloves as DJ rushes him and has a jab blocked. MAB with a fake-out right to the body and then lands a right hook to the other side.



Barrera 10-9

 

Round 2

DJ on the attack with a 1-2. MAB trying to catch DJ on the move with something. DJ just too quick on his feet. MAB slices the ring as DJ flits about, and DJ springs out of the corner. MAB with a lead right that lands against the side and back of DJ's head. DJ ducks down and complains to the ref. MAB with a three punch combo high and low. Double right hand from MAB drives DJ back to the ropes, he stumbles. MAB runs at him and DJ flurries in his face, maybe having played possum a bit but was definitely at least a little hurt. MAB leading with hooks to the body. DJ jabs out at MAB and takes a few more hooks to the body while his jab is extended.

Barrera 20-18

 

Round 3

MAB using very little footwork, but not needing it. DJ anxiously zipping in and out and getting hooked to the right elbow and torso. MAB economical with his movement, getting just close enough to dare DJ to try and score some quick points and then calmly firing on him. DJ walks himself onto the ropes and MAB steps forward with a 1-2 that pushes DJ into the ropes, shaking them. They posture for the last fifteen seconds. Crowd booing this round.

30-27 Barrera

 

Round 4

Holding pattern from the last round. DJ in and out, poking MAB in the face with his jab, while MAB tries to use his timing to hit the skinny target that is DJ's body. DJ also has his trunks hoisted up pretty high. DJ runs in and opens fire on MAB, but is punching with nerves high and missing a fair bit. MAB does take some shots as he tries to load up on a counter but doesn't get many off as DJ is moving side to side while punching.

Maybe a DJ round.

 

Round 5

DJ upping the output, and MAB keeps up with him. DJ circling faster, using both hands and MAB working mostly off the left, jabs and hooks to the body. A surprise MAB right does catch DJ unaware.
