Could "Kid Pambele" step up to face the challenge of "El Ferroz"?

In Voting please be specific on your results, UD or SD. If a stoppage please indicate Round TKO or KO.

    Thanks

Don't rate Vargas AT ALL. Overrated IMO.

Have no idea what Cervantes would be like at 147. Not quite sure why he's in here.

I will negate to make a prediction, but will say that Cervantes was the far better fighter IMO. At 147 that may not translate, but I feel Vargas was probably at his best at 154.

    ONLY MY OPINION :good

Vargas made the 147lb limit once, in truth if fat boy shed his bodyfat and stayed in shape he'd probably make WW. As for the match up I don't much care for it

Hard to say as one is an all great 140 pound fighter, and one is one of the best 154 pounders of his era, but not one of the better fighters in history. You could see Vargas using his strength and decent hand speed to make good attempts at walking his man down, but then you could also see the much more accomplished boxer placing his feet well for counters and establishing the jab.

I'll just pick Cervantes without much conviction as he was greater around the weight.

Umm... pretty silly matchup considering Vargas was a junior middle, and Cervantes a junior welter.

Head to head in an actual fight... Vargas would be too big.

But Cervantes was the better and greater fighter by LIGHT YEARS.

This is Cervantes' fight hands down...he outclasses the 2nd rate Vargas easily and stops him in 6.

Vargas, while exciting and certainly with a sentimental fan base, is just a Latin Pazienza.

Cervantez establishes the jab and dominates Vargas for the fight. Vargas has some moments using his strength and hand speed but a lopsided decision for Kid Pambele

At 154 Vargas was much stronger and efficient.

Still, no hall-of-famer or ATG. I could never pick him to be competitive with the bst at 154.

Most people are picking Cervantes here for being 'more proven around this weight'.

Forgot to make a pick in my own Tournament! I would have to go with Cervantes to use his boxing skills to move & pick away at Vargas. Fernando would have his moments, but Cervantes moves too well for a sustained attack. Cervantes UD.
