Miami, Florida is the site for this second round of the Latin Welterweight Tournament. With a couple of Cuban legends in action tonight. Jose"Montaquilla"Napoles will be fighting against fellow Cuban Benny "Kid" Paret in an action packed bout. In the Main event Puerto Rico's Felix"Tito" Trinidad will be going against "The Cuban Hawk" Kid Gavilan. Paret comes out fast & tries to force the action from the outset. Napoles is moving around avioding the rushes & keeping a distance with a hard jab. Benny keeps to the inside & scores some punches. Napoles starts to score in the middle rounds & take command. In the seventh Paret lands a hard right & opens up a cut! Napoles' left eye is bleeding bad! Jose steps up the pressure & rattles Paret with hard punches. In the eighth it is all Napoles & he scores almost at will . Paret goes down, the ref has seen enough & waves it off! JOSE NAPOLES . 8 TKO. BENNY PARET Gavilan comes out fast & establishes his jab. Trinidad is a slow starter & loses the first couple of rounds. finally Felix closes the distance & starts to land big punches Gavilan takes these shots & comes right back with his own. In the mid rounds Trinidad is scoring, but is becoming fustrated that Gavilan is taking his best punches well. & coming back with more. Trinidad is still trying his best , but is one step behind Gavilan, who is scoring well.
