Who would win this tough fight? Rodriguez pulled off the upset, defeating Roberto Duran. Or Carlos Ortiz, who advances to the second round by beating game Yori Boy Campas. 15 Rounds.

I'll go with lmr, because it's at welterweight (kop-out i know!)

I reckon Ortiz could win it in a p4p sense, or it would be even. But LMR was very strong by all acounts, can mix it, and then get on his bike to stave off the smaller man for me. Great fight, and a close one.

Rodriguez uses his frame to establish the jab early, starts sitting down on his punches more throughout the fight and stops a seriously out of his depth (at this weight) Ortiz around the 10th.

As everyone knows I'm a massive admirer of Ortiz, but he doesn't belong in a ring with Rodriguez, long for a Welter as it is.

Wow, Rodriguez beat Duran? Well in a way I'm glad an underrated great got the respect he deserved. Still to the fight at hand, lets face it, Ortiz was a lightweight and hes got no place in a ring with Rodriguez at welterweight. Rodriguez is bigger, stronger and stops a great fighter in his own right.

LMR is nearly as good p4p...In an actual H2H match he has far to many advantages. Bit unfair on old Carlos.

LMR wins a pretty wide decision I reckon.
