Laughable that HBO wanted Cloud vs Stevenson, instead of Stevenson vs Hopkins

HBO can kiss my arse for this bull**** fight. Outside of an occasional jab, Cloud couldn't land ****. This fight wasn't exciting.

HBO rejected Hopkins as an opponent for Stevenson, saying, Hopkins vs Cloud wasn't exciting, and they didn't want a boring fight... and that Stevenson vs Cloud would have fireworks. LMAO.

Hopkins vs Stevenson would have been a much more competitive fight, and Hopkins would have at least put some leather on Stevenson. Unlike Cloud, who just isn't that good.

Co-sign. Hopkins-Stevenson would be far more interesting and entertaining.

ya i think that after bellew, stevenson will face hopkins..then next summer it would be an easy fight(given that he beats hopkins) then kovalev in the fall of 2014

on paper it was a very exciting match up...no one could have predicted stevenson's domination. a lot has to do with cloud's lack of ability to handle lateral movement. but i don't think a hopkins-stevenson fight would have been more action-packed. might have went the distance in a very low-activity fight. at least we got to see two young, strong, hungry champs go head to head...unfortunately one guy was out of his league. but that's why they fight. cloud is still great. hope to see him work on his flaws and comeback.

On what basis is Cloud still (or was ever) great? This is his third straight loss, and he doesn't really have any good victories. Hopkins-Stevenson might not have had more action but it damn well would have had more significance.

B-Hop is the eastcoast enforcer and partner of Golden Boy. And you think HBO should have went for Stevenson vs B-Hop when everyone knows that B-Hop is over at SHOWTIME and with Goldenboy and HBO is with Stevenson???

WTF is the matter with you boy?????? Use your head next time

if you don't think former light heavyweight champ tavoris cloud is great, maybe you should step in the ring with him...might just change your mind after he tears your head off in 2 seconds. the guy is one of the top lightheavywts in the world. he lost two fights, not three...and one was to an all-time great in hopkins and the other was to another top guy who just happened to have the style to give him trouble. cloud is a great fighter that has dominated his opponents for most of his career. if he can figure out how to deal with lateral movement, he will be champ again...and be honest, this fight was not insignificant. hopkins had the style to bother cloud but cloud was still considered to be championship material.

Cloud required a straight gift against Campillo and any reasonable person counts that as a loss as well. Being completely impotent in the face of even the slightest lateral movement is not a quality I associate with greatness.

not by me..ive been saying all along that cloud is just an over glorified gate keeper that made the most of him winning the belt against woods..who wasnt the greatest and at the end of his career..then defended his belt against mediocre level fighters and when he stepped up he lost

Right? Cloud was never a world class fighter. He picked up a
vacant title. Hell, Fonfara would've beaten cloud tonight.
    I'm sure of it.

Cloud is no where near "great". A non-boxer in Stevenson easily outboxed him and busted him up. He had no answers for anything. He couldn't land a solid punch.

If he is top ten, then it would have to be 10.
