Lawrence Okolie vs. Chris Billam-Smith & Sam Eggington vs. Joseph Pigford RBR.

I believe in a narrow points victory for Okolie. CBS will have his moments and he will leave the ring with great honor.

Sad to see the downfall of Michael Mckinson opening the main card in a 6-rounder.

Eggington Pigford will be fun. Who is everyone backing ? I think Eggington will win on points, Pigford hasn't had many rounds at all despite being 20-0. I just hope Eggington can withstand Pigford's power. Both have a horrible defence. I am surprised that Pigford is the slight betting favourite to be honest.

Also this is another Boxxer show being shown on Sky Showcase. I can't recall Sky showing many of Matchroom's cards on Sky Showcase, apart from Katie Taylor in November 2020.

 

I think Pigford might blow him away but I want Sam to win, he's been given nothing and defied lots of odds to achieve all he has. I also think Jon Pegg may well be the nicest man in boxing so doubly supporting them.

I want CBS to win, another who nothing was really expected of and has jjust carried on working hard. I always want to see those rewarded.

 

There isn't much footage of Pigford. He looks like he punches hard (19KOs in 20 bouts), but has a poor defence. Eggington might have taken too much damage throughout his career to get through this one, although I am still backing him. I think Eggington Pigford will clash with the end of Conlan Lopez and the start of Lara Wood so I'll probably miss it.

Also want CBS to win. Remember Okolie only fought about 8-9 weeks ago so he may not be 100%. The home-crowd may also play a factor. I think Okolie wins on points in a scrappy affair.

 

Boxing being made more accessible isn’t a bad thing pal.

 

Tommy Welch fighting next. What do people make of him?

 

Absolutely brilliant news for the fighters, the potential exposure this gives them is massive. Also win/win for casual sports fans who are constantly asked to open their wallets for pretty much any type of sporting event.....this is a much needed break from the norm

 

Couldn't of put it any better, hard not to have anything but respect for Eggington or CBS. Hope they can both put on a big performance tonight

 

Welch was poor, gassed early although the opponent was actually decent and crafty. Points win Welch

Mckinson is a good boxer but boy is he hard to watch. Even for a purist. I don't expect KOs all the time but boy. Pts win.
