I think after 2016, Hearn thought the Joshua model (fairly boring, just says platitudes) was a winning formula and most of the 2016 Olympians were in that mould.

In reality people get tired of this very quickly unless they're exciting fighters - as Joshua has been. He also looks the part physically which helps. Less entertaining and attractive guys - ie Okolie - can't get away with all of that plus being genuinely boring people.

I think also that lots of people clocked onto Fowler pretty quickly. It's easy to sniff out what sort of guy he is if you're able to judge character half decently.

I promised myself I would not watch Okolie box again, unless he is fighting Breidis, or at the very least fighting to unify another belt and even then I might give it a miss.

That was painful to watch, excruciating at times and hard to understand or explain as I can't think of another fighter who has used those tactics, to such an extent and been able/allowed to get away with it.
