Has anyone seen what this idiot is currently doing? He's trying to worm his way out of a contract with Matchroom because Boxxer have offered him a better deal. Ordinarily, I wouldn't give a monkeys about this sort of stuff because a fighters shelf life is short however in this instance, it's bothered me because a) it's Okolie, an ugly, horrible excuse for a boxer and b) he's comparing Eddie Hearn to a slavemaster just because he wants a big bag of loot over at Sky. Apparently he posted some tweets last night and then deleted them. This content is protected Where on earth has this clown got this big of an ego from? From banging on about how he used to work at McDonald's to producing sht boring fights that stank out arenas, this guy man. He's something else. How he's got the nerve to complain is beyond me.
Why are Matchroom so intent on keeping him them? Big domestic match up against Riak on Sky for him or fighting Eastern European nobodies on DAZN. No brainer. Hearn has dropped fighters without batting an eyelid but doesn’t like it now it’s the other way round.
Sky going crazy with their offers apparently. They are desperate if they think Okolie can be "the face of boxing on Sky". Not that long since Okolipus was praising Hearn.
If Okolie has one fight left on his contract with Matchroom then he must fulfill it and then he is free to sign with Boxxer / Sky Sports. It would be sad if it ends up in court.
Would be surprised if Matchroom knowingly broke a contract. Mutually agreeing to end a deal, perhaps - like they did with Amir Khan when the Crawford fight came along, but doesn't sound like their style to walk away. Not that long ago, Sky were admitting how tough a watch Okolie's fights can be (and they're right).
Millionaire's referencing slavery as if they understand as if there's parallels with the job they're doing, he's made it about race too which is bang out wrong here.
Exactly. Before I saw the tweet in the original post showing the film and the connotations that brought I had a feeling he’d have been playing the race card. Is he under contract? If so he’s getting paid, no more a slave than any other dick head who has to work 40-60 hours a week to survive. Not an average boxer training hard for about 24 weeks a year, boxing twice and earning loads to stink places out. The cheek of it!
Someone should pull him up on this and society should not accept this kind of thing from anyone but right now, in the current climate, it's allowed, it's encouraged. It's going to take 5-10 years before there's a shift and enough is enough but for now Okolie is a slave, a black slave to a white boss.
I googled Trevor Sinclair the other day, I can’t remember what for and was shocked to find he’d actually been done for racism against a white person. The person was a police officer which probably helped but that was the first and only time I’ve ever heard of such an incident. I hope you’re right anyway. In terms of boxing I hope he loses, especially when he steps up to heavyweight. People seem to think he’s a shoe in for success up there, im not sure. I don’t think his holding up there will work against the more solid/heavy lads lads. I don’t mind Riakhpore but I still wouldn’t mind seeing the BillamSmith fight again somehow as that could have gone either way.
Did he really use that image from THAT scene? What a clown. That's the scene where DiCaprio character orders Big Frank to fight another man. Then makes him kill his downed opponent with a hammer. People make mistakes, but the guy is a fool to consider posting that. Or extremely drunk. No wonder he deleted it
