The couple I have spoken to (not the names you mention) seem happy enough with what they get. Of course every fighter wants more but those who Matchroom feel make them the most £'s or drive most subs are always going to be top of the pay table which is only right. I think it's a case of Sky overpaying now rather than Eddie under paying and DAZN aren't willing to get into bidding wars for average fighters, a bit like what DAZN had to do to establish a stable in the US , we all know how that one worked out. Sky are throwing a lot more money than they used to at it and from what I've seen have produced some shocking cards so far, trying to make Joyce v Parker on PPV just smacks of desperation imo.
I'll never do that, but I can reveal to you that almost all boxers from Matchroom have contacted people from Boxxer or Sky Sports.
Of course , because Sky are currently the new kid on the block paying silly money. It would be negligent of any manager/management company not looking out for their fighter who maybe contractually a free agent in the near future.
Went self managed as he thought his contract was up. Gave it the big one to Matchroom and then found out his contract wasn’t up. Sometimes you are better paying an actual management company 10% rather than trying to be greedy and do it all yourself. Going to now cost him a lot more than that in the long run. If Matchroom wanted to dig their heels in they actually have matching rights so could tie him in for another 2/3 years. Silly boy
What an idiot Quite baffling that a professional athlete sacks off his management team in order to go it alone. Stupid thing to do.
Trafford is pretty well informed about what's going on at Matchroom. I suspect he is one of their employees.
Keep dreaming. He talks utter drivel. Just another fraud. Not sure what it is about the British forum but there’s a disproportionate amount of fake experts on here, as headed up by chief beetroot neck @Heisenberg with his bought Instagram followers. No Matchroom employee is going to feel so insecure so as to spend time on an internet boxing forum trying to boost his own ego. There are no proper boxing men with achievements on here except Billy Nelson.
Serious question - how do you [claim to] know so much about Matchroom? Do you work for them or have a source there? Everything that ever gets said negative about Matchroom you’re always straight in to set the record straight.
Not just setting it straight. I don’tclaim to be only on the positives. For instance I think the UK output should be much more frequent. But the biggest issue is roster being spread thin. Booking venues and dates that work for DAZN and then having fighters ready. They are trying to catch up so they can have 8 weeks a card but it’s so hard to negotiate now with fighters as there’s so many options even opponents are hard to pin down.
