I really enjoy leading off with the left hook. Rarely land it effectively, but enjoy it none the less. Any tips is landing it while inducing any type of damage would be appreciated :D

You need to be pretty good to use this punch. Try to use some feints I guess, establish some other punches then feint them and go for the hook.

It's hard to say because everyone is different. If you want to lead off with a left hook and you're not fast, good, or powerful, then expect to eat straights and get knocked around a lot. If you're just starting out, work your footwork and learn how to throw the punches properly in the air, on the bag and on the mitts. As far as how you in particular should go about landing a lead off left hook, I can't tell you because I haven't seen you fight. My suggestion is pretty bland/vague, which is to get your jabs and crosses working, then give them a different look with the lead off left. Sometimes I jab, jab, then deliberately telegraph a jab a little bit, then do the same tell but throw a different punch. I dunno, I'm not an expert or anything, coaches help.

  5. Mostly use a lead left hook on the inside or if you want to tell your opponant you caught him offguard.
