"Leaked" Joyce-Joshua sparring video

Would AJ KO Joyce within 6 rounds?

    Carefully selected footage released by team AJ designed to make Joyce-AJ look like a mismatch. Why have they done this?

    I'm thinking it's because they don't want the Joyce fight and would like to discredit Joyce so they can avoid fighting him. "I already stopped him in the amateurs in one round and beat him up in sparring, so what's the point in fighting him?"

    Other things to bear in mind:

    1. We don't know when it was filmed: if it was several years ago then it's less relevant as Joyce was green.

    2. Joyce is always going to look relatively poor in sparring because he's a slow fighter who has typically won based on size, power, toughness, pressure and workrate. AJ is on the backfoot in the video, which suggests that Joyce would pressure him in a fight and AJ's looking slick but how slick would he be 8 rounds in? Takam looked pretty good for a few rounds against Joyce, until he didn't.

    Unfortunately, many will be taken in by this obvious ploy, even picking AJ to KO Joyce "within 6 rounds". As if AJ has KO'd ANYONE within 6 rounds in the last 8 fights and 5.5 years (and AJ wasn't so scared of being hit back then). You have to go back to green Martin and a washed up Molina to find AJ stopping anyone early and even around that time Whyte and Breazeale took him 7 rounds.

    If anyone takes anything from that sparring (which was definitely not all out) then they are ****ing stupid. Means absolute zero, nothing

    If Joshua is as confident of beating him as he says he is then he'll take the fight. We will see if he actually does though.

    Current Joyce would bulldoze AJ

    He'd box him off early then pin him when AJ is gassed and crying because he can't hurt him

    Joyce lacks speed & head movement

    AJ lacks much more. His heart will crack when he lands his best on Joyce and he keeps coming.

    against Tom little also videos of him having a back and forth with Allen babic on YouTube but we know he would annihilate both of them in a fight.

    aj on the other hand of course is miles above the last two I mentioned but I wouldn’t read to much into the sparring footage.

    it’s a real intriguing fight aj has a the speed and power advantage but Joyce has the stamina and chin and the work rate, if it ends early it’s aj’s if it goes late it’s Joyce’s.

    Sparring means nothing. In a real fight with no headgear and 10 oz gloves, Joyce would have a decent shot at the upset. Id be down for that fight if theres no Usyk rematch next.

    What we do know is Joyce is very slow and gets hit very easily. That won't change anytime soon and trying to simply survive until late will see Joyce stopped.

    Bit like what David Haye did with the Deontay Wilder sparring footage. Rich Towers and others in the camp were all saying everyone felt Wilder's power.
