Is it one, the other or a combination of both?

I never thought he had a chance but that performance showed Wlad was right on the money - Leapai has only one gear.

Some have said Leapai had everything to gain and nothing to lose in this fight - IMO wrong as this performance has done a lot of harm to Leapai's career.

He just scored 1.5 million, I'm sure that's a better career move than drivin a fork Monday morning.

    ridiculous post.

targeting his training and management is completely unjustified imo.

even if leapai won, he was going to lose 99% of the rounds. it was always going to be just a big ko shot or nothing. guys who r 6ft6 have huge problems with wlads jab so alex was always going to have big problems coping with it.

About what i expect from you Buster. Read the topic - never disputed how many rounds he would lose. The issue is for Alex's sake should he have been there - crafty move exploiting what Leapai has to earn a reputed 1.5mill or bad move career wise with the same ol' story of that 1.5mill evaporating into thin air.

He allegedly scored 1.5mill - i wonder how much of that he sees and how long he holds onto it.

1.5 million is more than he deserves to earn but Klitch fights are so huge in germany and europe

so why target his training then?

his management got him a fight for a world title. how on earth could u target his management either?

    again, stupid topic.

What would you put his horrible performance down to then?

And if you can't nouse one of the alternatives then **** off. I swear anyone could hold two hands in front of your face and you would argue there was three.

He got beaten by the best heavyweight in the world with a superior height, reach and skillset. Badly managed? He earned a 7 figure payday. Haven't seen the fight yet because I thought it would be a mismatch can't see how it would hurt his career though. Well done to him he challenged the elite and came up short.
He may be below the elite level but still makes for exciting fights domestically and possibly O/S. Can't see how this has harmed his career nobody thought he could win but he can make a living as a gatekeeper type boxer.

He earned one 7 figure payday and that is the heart of my problem with the whole fight in general and the unavoidable outcome.

Another fighter propelled too early into an undeserved shot for the sake of payday who no doubt will be lost to boxing afterwards or as you say propelled back into the domestic scene. IMO Alex should have taken the longer approach, gone OS and claimed some Euro / Brit scalps and build more skills and more gameplans for an eventual bout with Wlad. Reminds me of Jones - Kelly.

Easier said than done I would imagine he is a dad with 6 kids. He can't do what say Wild Will is trying to do relocating to America with his girlfriend and chase his dream. He has responsibilities far more important than boxing. He's 34 has responsibilities and has limitations he has done very well with what he has and will not die wondering ''what if?''
    Well done Lionheart.:good

Leapai is a limited fighter with power who earned his right to a title challenge. Wlad didn't hand pick him because he thought he was an easy target. He had to fight Leapai, and the fight went about the way most would have predicted.

Could Leapai and his camp have done much differently? Probably not. Nothing was going to take away Wlad's height, weight and skill advantages, and Leapai was never going to be able to be transformed into something he's never been in a one fight preparation.
