If i was about to face Travis Walker i would be working hard on avoiding taking shots , Walker is a notorious early doors banger , copping an unfortunate one could very well signal a fast cab ride to ***** street whilst Travis is still reletivley fresh , i ain't no Noel Thornberry but my initial opinion stands ,tell your mate to stay away from him for at least 5 rounds Ash .

Here's a story from today's Courier Mail. Had a picture with Alex and SBW.

Alex Leapai keen for world stage after fighting American Travis Walker on Anthony Mundine undercard

ALEX Leapai may have a problem finding suitable training partners but he says it won't be enough to stop him taking care of American Travis Walker in Brisbane next week.

Leapai is fighting on the Anthony Mundine undercard at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Wednesday and he is hoping to use the bout as a launching pad to a tilt at an international heavyweight title.

The Samoan-born Queenslander has won 18 times in 24 fights, including 14 by knockout.

"I am just happy that Team Mundine gave me an opportunity to fight on their card and fight an American. I am rapt because there's no one else in Australia," Leapai said.

"This guy is no pushover. He has 28 knockouts and he really can bang, but he's got to remember, he's coming over to my home, to Australia, so he better be ready to fight because I ain't going there to lose."

The 180cm 30-year-old said his preparation had gone smoothly, apart from a lack of suitable opponents willing to stand opposite him in the ring.

"I have a problem with sparring. I can't get any sparring partners," he said.

"We go through four guys in one spar and that's the trouble, we just want a continuous spar.

"You don't learn anything if you go soft on your sparring partners. Every now and then I try and load up because that's what you do in the ring. Some of them just don't like that."

Leapai said he wanted to lead the way for Australian heavyweight fighters on the international stage.

"I want to be the first Australian to be a world heavyweight champion," he said.

"You have to test yourself and I feel it's time for me to move over and take on the world."

Leapai's trainer Noel Thornberry described Wednesday's bout as "one of the biggest heavyweight fights in Australia for a long time" and said it could propel his charge into the top 10.

"Travis Walker is one of the best heavyweights to come out here and a lot of people in Europe and the US will take notice if Alex can stand up against him," Thornberry said.

This fight will be great Ippy...Walker has 28 ko's so this wont go the distance

I know Alex has a plan to attack Walker so its going to be on round 1

Im thinking someone will be KO'ed within 3 rounds and maybe even round 1

samoan david tua wasnt a big heavy. he was a one handed fighter. but punched big, had a big heart, and even when hit solid, his resolve to fight back was strenghtened. just like alex......

alex is a TWO handed fighter, a good sized heavyweight, has been hit solid and his resolve is unquestioned. he just hasnt had the exposure yet......and noel has given him the opportunity.

make no mistake, alex faces a tough test. but alex has more tools than tua did. alex will use his skills, and take this dangerous, cocky, big mouthed yank.....OUT!!!!.

GO ALEX! chin down, hands up. your dream is about to come true!

    more from les..same status update...

hahaha yeah reved a few people up i think. haha... but at least we are all in agreeance that MUNDINE fights bums nowadays he did fight great fighters early but not anymore, and will go down in history as a boxer that could have been one of the best if only he had sum balls... but he will just keep mouthing off saying that someone like Flloyd ... See moreMayweather wont fight him because he knows i will woop his ass. umm dont think so buddy . Flloyd would have never of even heard of mundine. or wait a minute yes he would have .. wasnt he the guy that said all that stuff about 9/11 and how america deserved it... anyway.. just wanted to say that it really is time to step up or F.,ck off and stop robbing the AUSTRALIAN public of there hard earned dollars.. if you wanna go down to junior middle..weight than good luck to you but if you cant make it or are no good at that weight (which i think he wont be) than fight some.1 decent at middle or whatever weight and stop talking ****.. and if your looking at opponents at middle.weight or super than im more than ready anytime, anywhere you want..
