Aerobics class is one thing and working on your footwork is another. I don't know what normal, commoner's aerobics class is gonna do to help a 30year old man's feet. His Foot Coordination is already set in stone pretty much with little room ofr improvement. Therefor I don't see him benifiting in anyway because of footwork improvement. He is gonna look the same and That footwork hand nothing to do with what Andre Dirrell was doing to him.

I understand where you are coming from but I don't think that is realistic at all. Saying you probably would do this and that is just BS. Every situation is different. As for aerobics there can be minimal improvement if any and regardles nothing will be seen in the ring. He's gonna be flat footed, conserving his energy behind a shell like always. Can't teach an old dog new tricks is more real than him getting and showing an improvement in his footwork from Aerobics class.

Now for the little last little line you tried to slip in that has nothing to do with this situation at all. I can see how yoga can be benificial to a boxer. Workin with beathing and flexibility is something that can be improved for someone new to yoga. If a fighter said he was cramping and was having stanima problems then yoga might help him. Moral of the story is every situation is different and one oppinion of one subject doesn't equate to any other subject unless the variables are completely the same in which they are not in this situation.

That is one reason why I love some of these Euro cats. They do all the "9ay" crap and still are hard mofos. When you are a real hard mofo you do what the hell you like and dare anyone to have an issue with it!

Why do you think I mentioned it being one component of his training? However minimal, aerobics helps develop strength, stamina, flexibility, coordination and balance. It's not just about foot work. There are different levels of intensity in these classes, so if you're thinking all aerobics is some Richards Simmons type stuff then you're wrong.

Every situation is different? No ****, that's why working on his general athleticism will help him better adapt. Despite what you say about a boxers style being set it stone, I think any boxer can work on a particular style to diversify their craft, add in elements for better ring generalship. I find it laughable that people think that it's impossible. My last 'little line' I slipped in actually is relevant. It was meant to highlight my opposition to your opinion that these alternative more everyday fitness type methods of training (like aerobics) can't be beneficial to an athlete. And I stand by my opinion that anything an athlete can possibly do to better himself should be pursued (not PED's of course). I think different approaches to training can be helpful instead of the same old, not only for the body but for the mind. I believe venturing towards alternative method of training adds to purpose and goals. Maybe there are better more effective methods of training, but again, you think Abraham doesn't use these methods or attempt to develop his footwork in the gym? What kind of boxer gets destroyed by a mover like Dirrell and doesn't even attempt to work on the shortcomings displayed in their losing fight? They shouldn't do that right, cause hey, their style is set in stone and it must be futile.

I'd like to know as well. I think the guy has big strong legs which transfers to greater punching power. I'm hoping this is the case anyway as I'm gonna start boxing soon and I may have an edge in power over the other guys in the gym because I'm a sprinter.
