I really dont think its his legs.. they do seem solid but for him you can just tell by his chest and shoulders and whole upper body he does some good lifts.. If thats the case maybe he does do some squats.. Tyson and David Tua... both short and stocky had tremendous tree trunk legs especially in the thighs!. Sprinting and running in general is of course great for boxing!
Every boxer should add strength/power training for their upper body and lower body into their regimen. Like you've mentioned squats are a great overall body lift, as well as dead lifts. Olympic lifts are great for power too but they are more difficult to perform. In practicing my power punches I really try to force my leg forward in a slight shift as I extend the arm to punch. I think many boxers run miles and miles a whole lot but neglect the sprint training. Boxing is also an anaerobic sport utilizing great power in short bursts, so sprinting is a great addition.
Yeah definitley.. every boxer runs to keep the weight down but the athletes who can also add sprinting can get an overall speed advantage. I remember an article with Mayweather saying he ran 5-6 minute miles and 8 miles at a time..
The man stated he was doing aerobics for his feet in fightcamp 360. Now look at last night and tell me that wasn't a waiste of time. He didn't know what to fix. He is even talking middleweight now LOL. Now do you agree with my assessment (speculation) that Abraham is mentally ****ed? Still good post:good.
