You know sometimes we can be fooled by how skillfull or smooth a guy looks or how many KO's he has, or my favorite the undefeated record.

Fact is anyone can look like Superman vs the right opposition, but what it all really comes down to is the quality of the opposition.

Linares and Juanma are prime examples of this. Valero is probably another one.

I get tired of watching an undefeated fighter fighting winos from the alley.

Do not compare Valero to these other guys. Valero is the real deal. 25 and 0 w/25 ko's. Only 6 out of 25 have made it out of the 1st round. Just captured a world championship in his last fight destroying a big puncher that had just knocked out Armando Santa Cruz and hadn't lost in 8 years. Captured his 1st world title 3 years ago ko'ing Mosquera who was 24-1 w/his loss being a SD 9 years ago. He destroyed Whyber Garcia in 1 round; everyone thought that Yuriorkis Gamboa looked so good dispatching him in 4 rounds.

No one in the world can beat Valero at 135 and below.

Pac can , and he can still make 135 , i promise you.
Marquez is another option , though i am not sure about him.

JuMa and Linares are highly regraded boxers and so is Gamboa. I think Valero is not as good as his record shows.

Pacquiao can most likely make it 135 but he will not go back to 135 and starve himself ever again.

25 fights with 25 KO 19 of the 25 KOs were KO from the 1st round. And of all his 25 oppponents, Mosquera is only one worth mentioning (which many believe that he is only B class boxer). Mosquera dropped Valero once, note that Mosquera is not heavy hand but he still dropped Valero. Valero would be killed by Marquez(who is flat footed at 135) if they meet at 135. Juan Diaz also has a good chance against Valero. If Pacquiao stayed at 135 and fought him, he would've been killed aswell.
I'm not saying that Valero doesn't have any chance against Pacquiao and JMM but Pac and JMM has greater advantage than Valero.

How is this the "hard" way?

Did you lose money betting on them?

Mosquera and Pitalua are the only wins I take notice of Valero's. And what happened with Mosquera? He got floored, his power wasn't able to knock Mosquera out cold, it was a ref stoppage. Pitalua, that I can't figure out, he seemed to be a deer in the headlights against Valero. That's why Valero needs to face someone who will test him so all the questions will be answered. And have you seen his fight against Nobuhito Honmo? The Japanese was taking all his supposedly big shots and walking him down fighting on even terms just before the ref called on the ring doctor to stop the fight on cuts because Valero seemed on the verge of losing control of the fight.

That's why Valero needs to step it up just about now. I'd be content if he takes on Rocky Juarez at this point.

The great majority of these hyped up youngsters have fantastic talent, but there are common features amongst all of them:-

    1) We don't know how their chin will hold up at pro/top level.
    2) We can't predict how dedicated they'll be to the sport.
    3) ALL of them have deficiencies, and they need to address these or they will never fulfil their potential.
    4) We have no idea about how mentally strong these guys are (see Ortiz).

Because of these factors you can only really speculate about how great a fighter can become. I'm sure if you saw JCC after 5 fights and compared him to Hector Camacho...99% of people would've picked Camacho to be a better fighter.

Look at how great amateurs like Mark Breland have failed to live up to their potential. Or in hindsight how the hype surrounding fighters like Jeff Lacy seems stupid.

This is why fans of up and coming fighters need to realise their guys have deficiencies, and that to be the best they will need to be worked on!!!

i don't think it requires that much of a starvation of him.
see , for his last fight at 130 he was 143 fight night.
against hatton he weighed in 138 , against dlh 142.
and fight night he wasn't much more.
he can make 135 with no problem. that's where he can belong without a trouble. him being #1 at 140 , is only because of his great talent , prowess and trainer.

Tell that to Pacquiao. Pacquiao's walking weight if I heard correctly is 150.
