You also said in the Wlad/Rock thread that his power and strength are over rated but you've just contradicted yourself..again.

I don't understand the last part positive of negative? A freak of nature is coined to a person who excels in a certain sport/s displaying strength, determination, speed etc.

How can he over rate a persons natural ability then call him a freak of nature in another thread..I like what MadcapMaxie said

    Niccolino Locche?

This is based on him looking like an average layman... with otherworldly reflexes/defense of course.

Not at all contradicting. It's all a matter of context. I believe his one-punch power is overrated. He was more an attrition puncher at his best. His vaunted "one-punch" KO of Walcott was a young fighter catching a very shopworn, very tired old fighter bouncing off the ropes and stepping into a beaut of a right hand. Marciano landed similar punches a few rounds earlier, but without the same setup (a fresher Walcott not stepping into the punch) and Walcott survived.

I also believe that Rock's strength, relative to a superheavy like Wlad or even a Hasim Rahman, is not up to sufficient. For a man his size, his strength is fantastic. Against the new breed, not so much.

Nothing was taken out of context, you never mentioned nor compared him with them as you are now.

"It was his stamina and output, his relentless, dogged fighting spirit...Unfortunately, he was woefully ill-equipped physically" You are comparing Marciano pshyical attributes not to anyone other than himself. That is a contradiction.

"67 reach..birth defect" what?? I thought he was a freak of nature my bitter friend

Talk about stiff. Looked like his legs had permanent cramps, too.

This is actually a very very hard question to judge.

Even if a fighter has poor training habits or inherently poor athletic ability, they can still have something else.

For example even somebody like Tony Galento, might have been one of the naturally strongest fighters of his era.
