If you think Spinks lacked power, you've either come to some extremely silly conclusions or don't know the first thing about him.
Page seldom looked in shape but he had some real god given abilities. At one point he was top three in the division for hand speed and his reflexes were unreal. I'm pretty sure it was against Witherspoon where he had his mouthpiece knocked out and he actually caught it in his gloved hand in mid air. For a big guy he could also move surprisingly well.
More that he batted 40% at heavyweight and actually batted 40% in his first 10 professional fights with none of these fights were scheduled for 10 rounds or more. His next two fights he went 50%. His 15 fights after saw only Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Dwight Qawi and Eddie Davis last the distance which is 80% if i figure right. The class and durability of Dwight and EMM speak for themselves and Eddie Davis was a good fighter too. I don't think he's far behind Foster at 175 for power, bit more in the right and a bit less in the left.
Some of you guys have wack definitions of athleticism. I remember someone saying that Ali of all people wasn't very athletic because he didn't have a good 100m time, as if your ability to run in a straight line for 100m is the end all and be all of athleticism. Nikolai Value is 7'0 and 330lbs. He's by definition one of the most athletically gifted human beings of all time. Joe Joyce is just a slow twitch Deontay Wilder. A **** poor boxer from a technical standpoint who's entire career is based on exploiting his athletic traits. 6'6, 260lbs+, with an ATG chin and incredibly cardiovascular and muscular endurance despite being nearly 40 years old. Rocky Marciano??? ROCKY MARCIANO, UNATHLETIC? How can a relatively unskilled 5'10 man with a 5'8 wingspan go 49-0 whilst being unathletic? The man has ATG endurance, an excellent chin AND knockout power. He's a phenomenal athlete. Being "athletic" isn't just being someone who can run fast, jump high and lift big weights. Height Muscle Mass Cardiovascular Endurance Muscular Endurance Proprioception and Hand Eye Coordination Dexterity Balance Injury Resistance Knockout Resistance Recovery Speed Hand Speed
i don't know if he is the fastest man, mike tyson was also very fast in executions but he had a very short lifespan
Specifically 268 Ruiz I wanted to mention Galento even though he was never champ, but he had 112 fights and a round 14 win
I agree that there are many different features of athlethicism - but I don't think size is one of them. Don't think it makes much sense to say big = athlethic, but some athlethic qualities are more impressive in a big man. Tyson Fury's coordination for example. If a world level lightweight moved like him - He'd be considered a bit awkward and uncoordinated, but for someone this big He's actually gifted.
Not heavyweight, super heavyweight. Fury is on a different level from every 6'5+, 250lber in terms of his speed and reflexes.
